My name is Chaterine, now I am 22 years old, I live and grew up in Indonesia.
However, I have lived in several different cities for educational purposes. I was born and raised
in Makassar City, South Sulawesi. When I started my high school education, I moved to Malang
City to attend Saint Joseph Catholic College Senior High School for 3 years. Then, when I moved
up to the next level, which is college, I moved to Surabaya City and studied at Ciputra University
for 4 years, then finally graduated with a Bachelor's degree in tourism.
In my family, I am the only daughter and I have 2 brothers, my older brother and younger
brother. My older brother is 24 years old and my younger brother is 21 years old. Since childhood,
my two brothers and I have had a very close relationship, as well as our relationship with our
parents. However, every time we gather at home or during holidays, we still carry out our family
togetherness traditions that we usually do every day, such as eating and vacationing together.
From above I have told a little about my family, now I will tell more about myself and the
hobbies that I like to do. I graduated from the Faculty of Tourism, majoring in Culinary Business.
I chose to take this major also because it started from my hobby since childhood, which is
cooking. Until now, in my spare time I still enjoy cooking for the people closest to me. My current
activity is that I am running my bakery business, where I have a bakery in the city where I live, in
Makassar City. This bakery business has been running for almost 1 year. In addition, I also have
other hobbies besides cooking, such as singing, vlogging when I am traveling, and I also enjoy
exercising. The sports that I do almost routinely at this time are swimming, yoga, and pilates.
In connection with the Aupair program, I will tell you a little about my experience with
children. Actually, in my own family, I have many cousins from babies to children who are still in
school. Sometimes, I am also asked by their parents to accompany them at home, pick them up
from school, make supplies for school, and accompany them to play outside. My cousin who is
still in school named Mia, she is 7 years old. Mia is a fairly active and cheerful child, she spends
more time playing outside the house than playing gadgets. Therefore, I sometimes accompany
her swimming because she also likes to swim and if their parents are busy, I pick her up from
school if I have free time. In addition, I have also accompanied my cousin named Rosi who is 4
years old to play at Cimory Dairyland which is a zoo but there is also a place to learn and play for
children. So far, I feel happy with the children and sometimes time feels so fast when spending
time with them.

Beside my experience with children, I also have experience in organizing and other social
activities. I have participated in an activity that is almost similar to Aupair. It was a student
exchange in Perth, Australia which lasted for 2 weeks. While in college, I was once an
administrator in the marketing and sponsorship team at a bazaar event and a campus art
performance. Before I graduated from college, I participated in an internship program at Artotel
Thamrin Jakarta as a marketing communication intern for 6 months. During the internship, I took
care of a lot of materials for content marketing on social media, made rundowns for an event,
and made press releases for certain events. Recently, I also participated in a social activity,
namely volunteering. This activity took place in an orphanage that housed orphans, children with
physical disabilities, and elderly parents who no longer had homes. In this activity, I learned a lot
about how to mix and interact with small children even with children who have physical
disabilities, where we learn to be close to children who have different personalities. This activity
is very exciting because besides learning and playing with them, we also do other activities
together, namely making creations from clay and making key chains.
Why I chose this Aupair program is because at first I was quite curious about the culture
and habits of foreign countries which are certainly different from Indonesia. Then after I found
out from several sources that it turns out that we can learn the language and culture of other
countries and can directly interact with the native people of that country by joining this Aupair
program. In addition, I also really like children, maybe because my environment is still close to
children from my own extended family. Then, I finally chose the Netherlands as the country
because since long ago I have enjoyed seeing the Netherlands in photos, where the Netherlands
looks very beautiful, clean, and unique. Especially the windmill buildings and the flowers that
grow in spring. In addition, I have also often heard about the culture in the Netherlands, so I want
to know more by going there.
