Dear Future Host Family,

I'm Karin, a 22-year-old from Indonesia. It's great to meet you virtually. Currently working as a Secretary & Personal Assistant in a listed real estate company in one of the wonderful places in Indonesia. Yet, I'd like to take the opportunity to apply as an Au Pair, as it has always been my dream to work abroad, and I have to start somewhere – like working abroad with little humans!

I am a creative, calm, patient, and introverted person. However, when I'm around children, I love to engage in their activities and learn more about them. I am intrigued by their point of view because they have the potential for many wonderful things. In terms of my childcare experience, I mostly act as their big sister and a loyal audience. Personally, I have a close bond with my 9-year-old cousin (the whole family previously resided in New York). I have been staying in his home for a year during weekdays. I spend most of my after-office hours with him. I have immersed myself in his world, from playing soccer (I mostly play a pivotal role as his biggest supporter) to negotiating our choices on what movie or show to watch. We engage in further discussions about his learning, and, last but not least, indulge in good-natured teasing. Throughout these interactions, I have taken on the responsibilities to ensure he's well-fed, entertained, and comfortable, especially when his parents are away. I have also been diligent in making sure he washes his hands and attends to his daily needs. I enjoy the moments spent with him; he's like a brother to me and eagerly awaits my return from the office on weekdays.

While I anticipate missing him when I go abroad, I'm enthusiastic about embracing new cultures and building connections with people in a foreign country. I believe this experience will significantly contribute to my personal growth.

As an Au Pair, I am searching for a host family that would kindly welcome me to be part of the family. You can count on me to accompany your kids to school, help them with their homework, ensure they are well-nourished, and engage them in enjoyable activities. I don't mind helping with a few household chores and, without a doubt, following your house rules.

Moreover, I would greatly appreciate a clear working schedule, as this would enable me to take on a part-time job to save up for my college education.
