Dear future host family,
I’m Linda, I’m from Santa Marta, Colombia, and I’m 25 years old, let me tell you something about my life, I was born in Santa Marta in 1996, I grew up right here living with my family, we really love this place, who has such a beautiful
beaches and nature, I have been living here with my parents, Jorge and Yolanda, my siblings Jorge Luis and Raquel, and since a few years with my nephews Luis
Fabiano and Jose Luis. In 2013 I moved to Bogotá to study the degree in Environmental Engineering, and I already finished in April of 2019.
I lived in Bogota for 6 years and when I was in my 9 semester I moved to Brazil in a student exchange for 6 months, it has given me the opportunity to meet a lot of
people of different places all around the world, and meet their culture, and the Brazilian culture too, it was an amazing experience who makes me grow up and
gain mature since I had to be there without my family, and I had to be more independent but always with the support of my parents, I lived there with 5 friends I had to learned to be more empathetic, tolerant, patient, etc.
About myself, I’m a very calm person, kind, responsible, respectful, I prefer not to argue, I’m empathetic, well-organized, I really like to do the things correctly, a bit shy, I love to learn, I enjoy having quality time with my family and my friends, and
my pets, I really enjoy discovering new things, meeting new people, cultures, places, and doing new activities. In my free time I really love dancing, listening to music, I’m a series and movie’s lover, I really like reading, go to the gym, traveling and spending the time at home too, I like a lot to watch and make videos about travel, I really enjoy connecting with nature, walking to the park, play some games, I love basketball a lot, when I
was a child I used to play in a basketball team of my city and went to another city to represented my department in a basketball tournament, I really love the beach and I go there in every moment that I can.
My experience with children starts when I was in high school, we need to do some hours of social service, and we could choose what things to do, I chose to help the teachers in my school’s kindergarten, so I had to be with the children, take care of them, teach and help them with their activities, we played games, sports, it was a really good time. When I was in the college, I was volunteer in a foundation who help children with cancer, we spent time with the kids and helped them with some activities, we had fun and played some games, recently I was babysitter of 3 kids, 2 girls and 1 boy at different times, we used to go to the park, to play some sports, or we stayed at home and watch movies, ate some snacks, and made crafts, I’ve always loved children, and every single moment that I can, I like to spend time with them because you never stop learning from them, of every single things that they say or do.
Right now, I’m working for an enterprise in the telecoms area as an engineer, and I’m very happy because it’s a new area for me and as I said before I love learning new things. I want to be au pair mainly because I love the idea of take a challenge like living
abroad, and knowing your culture and improving another language, it’s also very interesting to be able to teach other people my culture and my language. I want to know so many places, so many people from everywhere, and I really want to have a health living together with my host family where respect and tolerance prevail because I think that is important.
I would like to add that I have driven since June/2021 when I got the license, reason why I could be a good option if I’d have to take them somewhere.
I’m really excited with the opportunity to know you better and to be part of your family, I’m sure that to live with you and your children in a different country of mine will increase my experience and life lessons.
