My name is Jade and I am currently employed as a child care worker at a daycare in Canada. I work with children ages 2-5 years old and have previous experience working with children from grades 3-6. I have almost two years of child care experience, and spend my summers working full time and during the school years I work part time. Along with my experience in child care, I have volunteered at my church and my cities hospital caring for children.
I am currently studying at my local university, where I am enrolled in the developmental studies program. I have taken multiple developmental psychology courses that have educated me to work at my fullest ability as a child care worker. I intend to become a Child Life Specialist, where I am not only working closely with children, but families as well.
By au pairing, I am able to improve my skills working with families, and do something that I love in a new environment.
I have known since I first started volunteering with children (when I was a child myself) that caring and nurturing children was my life calling. I believe that the work I do is incredibly important. With teaching children how to properly self regulate during stressful situations, adequate social skills and complying to social norms through scaffolding, I am able to build a better future for the child.
