Dear Host Family,

Hello! Thank you for taking the time to visit my profile. My name is Lariyah, and I am a 19-year-old college student from Minnesota, USA. I recently completed my first year of college and am currently taking a gap year before returning to school to pursue my goal of becoming an orthodontist.

I decided to use this year as an opportunity to experience something new, immerse myself in a different culture, and grow as a person before continuing my education. Becoming an au pair feels like the perfect way to do that because it combines my love for working with children with my excitement for meeting new people and experiencing life in a new place.

I come from a close-knit family and live with my parents, my younger brother, and our two cats. Family has always been very important to me, and being adopted has given me a unique appreciation for the many different ways families are built and connected through love, support, and trust.

I would describe myself as outgoing, caring, dependable, and adaptable. I enjoy meeting new people, trying new experiences, and creating a positive environment wherever I go. I am responsible when it comes to my commitments, but I also love having fun and bringing positive energy into everyday life.

Working with children has been a big part of my life. I have babysat for multiple families, worked with children at Pump It Up, volunteered with young people, and tutored students. These experiences have taught me patience, creativity, communication, and how to build positive relationships with children of different ages. I genuinely enjoy helping children learn, grow, and have fun in a safe and supportive environment.

In my free time, I enjoy reading, exploring new places, spending time outdoors, trying new activities, and making memories with family and friends. I love learning about different cultures and am excited to share my own culture while learning about yours.
