Dear future host family,
I'd like to start my first letter to you with introducing myself. My name is Dariia. I'm 20 years old and I'm a 3th year student of English Philology department at Ternopil National Pedagogical University. I study English and German to be a teacher in the future.
I was born in the city of Ternopil, Ternopil region. I have a very warm relationship with my family, my mom Svitlana (45)civil servant, my father, Ruslan (49) the taxi driver. The parents support my decision about going to the US, even if it was hard for them to let me go so far away alone, they always support me in all my beggings and want best for me.
I decided to become a part of the Au Pair program because I think this program will be beneficial for me and my future. Currently, I work as a private tutor of English language for kids. I am always so delighted when I see their progress grow. I play with kids in different games which helps to master English, we learnt letters, numbers, seasons and other things and what a miracle was to observe their results.
But working with children is that I can see for yourself in the future. That's why I went to a pedagogical university, I believe that it will help me find a common language with children. I chose the United States because I really want to share my own experience and get acquainted with the culture of the US. I guess it’s a great new challenge which I want to pass and gain experience.
Working with kids is my real vocation. I started to work with kids at very young age, when my first cousin was born, I was 10 at that time, I helped my aunt to look after her kids. There were 2 of them a 1 year old boy David, 2 years old girl Christina. When she had some tasks to do I looked after them, we played together, I fed them and made them fall asleep. I would say that it was so easy but I found good approach for them. Even if it was not easy process I’m still working with kids.
After a visit to the US, I plan to finish my education as a teacher and start working as a flight attendant. I've always had a dream to be a flight attendant since childhood. I believe that the program Au Pair will help me to be more confident of what I’m doing.
