Hi! My name is Ed, and I am working since 2014 with live-in care au pairs, who stay with me for 6 months or more and who are for that period my right hand in all kinds of ways. This has proven to be a very successful set up and a win win situation for both me and the au pair. A bit about myself: I had a stroke in 2011 which left me fully paralysed, but with a lot of will power, humor and positivism I recovered a lot of strength again. I live by myself in a very nice apartment in Amsterdam, and have a team of local care takers to look after me. A care au pair (the person I’m looking for) is working here in addition to this team and is my right hand, my buddy. So, if you have: - the EU nationality - a positive, cheerful and flexible personality - no back off from physical care taking - a willingness to learn about care taking and being in charge of a household and other people involved - an availability of at least 6 months - a fluent English speech - working on a legal contract then you can apply for this position. DON'T react to this ad if you DON'T meet the qualifications above. This is an officially contracted job for which an EU nationalty or valid work permit is a MUST. NO EXCEPTIONS. The main duties of the care au pair are: being foremost my buddy and right hand, next to that managing the household, care taking (part of my team of local care takers), good and fun companionship for handicapped man. There is an uplifting, enthusiastic and positive atmosphere in the house, and plenty of free time for the care au pair to explore the city. I love to go to the cinema or to jazz concerts, cook vegan, I love freaky modern art and explore the city, take care of my many plants on the balcony and in the house, writing (I’m currently writing my second book) and digital painting. I like to go out in the weekends, go to the movies or a theater or visit festivals. We offer a monthly fee, a separate room, free room and board, transportation means, interesting surroundings, and affluent help to get established in the city/country. My appartment is situated nearby the city centre, really great, everything in cycling or walking distance, next to a nice park and canals. In order to get the best possible impression for both sides, we have a document with a full job description after which we will ‘meet’ in a video- or (if feasible) face-to-face interview. Hope to hear from you soon. And if you have any questions, do feel free to ask me. Kind regards, Ed
