I am seeking a provider to assist me with showering and dressing on a daily basis. routine is to arrive say hi to our large friendly dog awaken me start shower make bed while I brush teeth stand by assist while I shower. help in shower involves washing my back with a loofa on a stick and holding my paralyzed left arm up so I can use loofa to scrub armpit. after shower need help drying back and legs and bandaging big toe on left foot, after dried off dressing lower half of body while seated in shower,putting on boots & AFO and lacing securely then I walk to bed sit on bedside need help raising arm again as I put on deodorant, caregiver dons shirt and sling for left arm and shorts. make our way downstairs to kitchen I get my coffee while caregiver prepares a yogurt with granola and sets it with a banana next to my recliner. at this point care is complete and it is caregiver's option if they want to visit while I eat. entire process is just under 1 hour. hug our goodbyes until next day. I am hemiplegic complete left side paralysis but ambulatory on my own and do not need help with transfers. we have a chairlift for stairs so getting from bedroom to main floor is easy.
