Agreement & Rights

Welcome to the GreatAuPair and GreatAuPairUSA websites (an interactive computer "Service"), provided to you by GreatAuPair, LLC. ("GreatAuPair"). These Terms of Use govern your use of these sites and GreatAuPair's Services.

Registration on GreatAuPair is free. Your registration constitutes your acceptance of the complete Terms of Use; the Agreement & Rights; the Terms of Conduct; the Refund Policy and the Privacy Policy as described herein, and create a binding legal agreement.

A paid subscription is not required to list your profile or search the GreatAuPair database. Once you have registered for free, you may subscribe to gain privilegesprivileges for either the Family or Candidate database. There are no additional placement fees or commissions charged by GreatAuPair to search for jobs or candidates. Application fees, placement fees, program fees, surcharges, and other fees may apply to full-service cultural and educational exchange programs. Membership subscriptions are auto-renewed based on your selected subscription term, which you may modify or cancel at any time by clicking the links, "change subscription term" or "cancel auto-renew" under the "My Account" menu, on the top right of the page when signed in.

If you post a personal profile (content and information about you or your family) inclusive of photos, complaints, comments or reviews on GreatAuPair.com or a Childcare Network affiliate website (affiliates), you grant to GreatAuPair and its affiliates a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, and fully sublicensable right to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, use in promotional campaigns, translate, create derivative works from, distribute, and display your profile information, including but not limited to written contents, photos, videos, complaints, comments or reviews throughout the world in any media. You also grant GreatAuPair and its affiliates and the sublicensees the right to use the name that you submit with any profile, complaint, comment, review or testimonial, if any, in connection with such profile, complaint, comment, review or testimonial.

Notice of Filming and Photography. When you participate in a GreatAuPair event or program, you enter an area where photography, audio, and video recording may occur.

By entering the event venue, you consent to interview(s), photography, audio recording, video recording and its/their release, publication, exhibition, or reproduction to be used for news, webcasts, promotional purposes, telecasts, advertising, inclusion on websites, social media, or any other purpose by GreatAuPair and its affiliates, representatives and assigns. Images, photos and/or videos may be used to promote similar GreatAuPair events in the future, highlight the event and exhibit the capabilities of GreatAuPair. You release GreatAuPair, its officers, employees, representatives and assigns, and each and all persons involved from any liability connected with the taking, recording, digitizing, or publication and use of interviews, photographs, computer images, video and/or sound recordings.

By entering the event venue or participating in the event, you waive all rights you may have to any claims for payment or royalties in connection with any use, exhibition, streaming, webcasting, televising, or other publication of these materials, regardless of the purpose or sponsoring of such use, exhibiting, broadcasting, webcasting, or other publication irrespective of whether a fee for admission or sponsorship is charged. You also waive any right to inspect or approve any photo, video, or audio recording taken by GreatAuPair or the person or entity designated to do so by GreatAuPair.

You have been fully informed of your consent, waiver of liability, and release before participating in the event or program.

We recognize that each country has its own laws regarding fair labor standards, many of which differ from those in the United States. GreatAuPair is a US company that supports the United States Fair Labor Standards Act, in cooperation with the Department of State-designated Exchange Visitor Au Pair Program. While GreatAuPair can neither govern the practices of foreign employers nor enforce the laws of the United States upon foreign employers, by using the GreatAuPair Service, you acknowledge and agree to comply with the United States Fair Labor Standards Act and 22 CFR 62.31 which stipulates that Au Pairs may work no more 10 hours per day and a maximum of 45 hours per week. Regardless of domicile, employers who violate the United States Fair Labor Standards Act or 22 CFR 62.31 may be removed from the GreatAuPair website and disallowed future access. Determination of violation shall be at the sole discretion of GreatAuPair.

GreatAuPair does not condone or allow the hiring of foreign nationals outside the prescribed laws of any country in which it operates.

Each country has its own immigration and employment laws. GreatAuPair does not offer legal advice. So, if you do not understand the laws of your country, seek appropriate legal counsel to be sure you understand and abide by proper work visa and employment laws when hiring a foreign national.

GreatAuPair members who attempt to subvert the labor laws and visa regulations of their country may be removed from the GreatAuPair website and disallowed future access. Determination of violation shall be at the sole discretion of GreatAuPair.

Terms of Conduct

Unacceptable actions, conditions, and content on this website, listed below, will constitute grounds for blocking your access to this website, removal of posted material and cancellation of your registration and or membership subscription without refund. As a condition of your use of this website, GreatAuPair's Service, you agree that
you shall not:

(a) Include your last name or enter your personal contact information such as an email address, chat address or personal web page address in any photo, image or text field which does not specifically request such information;

(b) Attempt to subvert the membership subscription system or direct users to any other website, location or directory where your contact information may be obtained;

(c) Upload or post any information or advertisement that may be considered as competitive to the GreatAuPair service. Solicitation for services by any means, other than those offered or directly approved by GreatAuPair, to its registered users is strictly forbidden. And under no circumstances shall the harvesting and commercial re-use of emails be allowed;

(d) Share your account credentials or premium membership subscription with any other person or third party. If despite the foregoing, you lose control of your password, you may lose substantial control over your personally identifiable information and may be subject to legally binding actions taken on your behalf;

(e) Upload, post, email or otherwise transmit any content that is unlawful, harmful, threatening, harassing, defamatory, obscene, vulgar, invasive of another's privacy, hateful, discriminatory or otherwise objectionable;

(f) Create or maintain more than one active profile at a time. Each family and candidate is allowed only one active profile in the GreatAuPair database at any one time;

(g) Upload, post, email or otherwise transmit any content that you do not have a right to transmit under any law or under contractual or fiduciary relationships (such as insider information, proprietary and confidential information learned or disclosed as part of employment relationships or under nondisclosure agreements) or any content that infringes any patent, trademark, trade secret, copyright or other proprietary rights of any party;

(h) Perpetrate a scam, use a false identity, forge headers, or otherwise manipulate identifiers in order to disguise the origin of any content transmitted through this site; or commit any act of fraud including but not limited to posting or distributing false, altered, or forged documents, identification or photos; or intentionally deceive others for monetary or personal gain, including but not limited to purposeful misrepresentation of an important material fact, with the knowledge that it is false, to a victim who justifiably relies on the misrepresentation, and who suffers an actual loss, as a result;

(i) Upload, post, email or otherwise transmit any material that contains software viruses or any other computer code, files or programs designed to interrupt, destroy or limit the functionality of any computer software;

(j) Interfere with or disrupt (or attempt to interfere with or disrupt) this site or servers or networks connected to this site, or disobey any requirements, procedures, policies or regulations of networks connected to this site;

(k) Exhibit expressions of abuse, use or display offensive language or imagery, obscenity, or pornography, including, but not limited to, child abuse, child pornography, depictions of minors engaged in sexual conduct or explicitly sexual situations or any other material that could give rise to any civil or criminal liability under applicable state or federal law, or violate any laws or regulations of any governing body having jurisdiction over GreatAuPair or its subsidiaries, affiliates or users;

(l) Solicit any relationship other than host family/au pair or employer/employee related to childcare, pet sitting, housekeeping tutoring, personal assistant or senior care as may be found through this Service, and shall by no means attempt to divert members to any other service, employer, agent or sponsor other than GreatAuPair;

(m) Engage in sexual relations with members found through this Service or have been convicted of any sexual or criminal offense in the past 10 years;

(n) Harm others in any way.

J-1 Au Pair Non-Solicit and Non-Compete

GreatAuPair is designated by the U.S. Department of State as an Au Pair Program Sponsor, as such, GreatAuPair does not allow the solicitation of its members by any person or entity for any purpose other than to participate in GreatAuPair’s J-1 Au Pair Program or direct service offerings. J-1 Au Pairs registered on GreatAuPair may only participate in GreatAuPair's J-1 Au Pair Program and may not be solicited by any person, host family or third party to participate in a similar program offered through a competing au pair sponsor organization. U.S. employers/families may not entice or suggest that eligible J-1 au pairs bypass GreatAuPair’s legal J-1 Au Pair Program. Failure to comply with this stipulation will constitute grounds for blocking your access to the GreatAuPair websites, removal of posted material, and cancellation of your registration and or membership subscription without refund. Au Pair J-1 visa DS-2019 forms are non-transferrable between designated sponsors, as such, transition or re-match au pairs from another sponsor au pair organizations are not allowed to use the GreatAuPair Service.

Content Monitoring

GreatAuPair may monitor content uploaded or transmitted through the Service for purposes of enforcing the terms herein, however, GreatAuPair as a publisher bears no obligation to monitor content for any purpose. All content provided by a user of this site is the sole responsibility of that user, not GreatAuPair.

Refusal of Service

GreatAuPair reserves the right to remove the accounts of offending users from its Service, without notice and without refund, at its sole discretion, if any of the Terms of Conduct herein are found to have been violated on any website owned or not owned by GreatAuPair.

Refund Policy

There are no refunds on membership subscriptions, application fees or program fees. Once GreatAuPair has received payment for a subscription term, you are granted full access to either the Family or Candidate contact database, based on your selection and term. Paid subscriptions cannot be put on hold and "banked" for use at a later time. If you deactivate your profile or cancel your account, your subscription term will still expire based on the number of consecutive calendar days from the date your most recent subscription or renewal term took effect. GreatAuPair does not provide a pro-rated refund for unused subscription terms. Membership subscriptions, application fees, and program fees are final.

Background, motor vehicle, and reference checks are initiated immediately upon service token redemption. Completed reports are not refundable. In the event a token is redeemed for a candidate who fails to complete the online release form, the token may be un-redeemed and used for another candidate. Requests for refunds on redeemed service tokens will be subject to a service charge of $25 per token.

Account Deactivation Policy

GreatAuPair reserves the right to deactivate and cancel your account based on the following conditions of non-use. In the event 30 days pass and you have not signed in to your registered account, your profile will be deactivated, which means that your profile will not appear in the results of any searches. You will be notified via your registered email address that your profile has been deactivated. If you do not re-activate your profile within 15 days of de-activation, your profile will be automatically stored for up to three years, then automatically deleted from the GreatAuPair database and website. You may restore your profile as long as it exists in our system.

Account Cancellation Policy

You may cancel your account at any time: How to Cancel. Account cancellation is the sole responsibility of the account creator. GreatAuPair will automatically charge your credit card for membership renewals if you have chosen to enable auto-renewal for your selected subscription term. If you wish to cancel your auto-renewal subscription, simply turn off auto-renew under the My Account section prior to the expiration of your current subscription term.

DISCLAIMER OF WARRANTY AND LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY

A) DISCLAIMER OF WARRANTY: THE GREATAUPAIR AND GREATAUPAIRUSA INTERACTIVE COMPUTER SERVICES WEBSITES AND ALL PRODUCTS AND SERVICES PROVIDED THROUGH THEM (THE “SERVICE”) ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" WITH NO WARRANTIES WHATSOEVER. GREATAUPAIR CANNOT IN ANY WAY BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR THE ACCURACY OR TRUTHFULNESS OF ANY OF THE INFORMATION PROVIDED IN ANY PROFILE, COMPLAINT, OR OTHER USER-GENERATED CONTENT ACCESSED THROUGH THE SERVICE. ANY ARRANGEMENTS MADE BETWEEN YOU AND OTHER USERS OF THE SERVICE ARE MADE SOLELY AT YOUR DISCRETION, EXPENSE AND RISK. ALL EXPRESS, IMPLIED, AND STATUTORY WARRANTIES, INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT, ARE EXPRESSLY DISCLAIMED. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, GREATAUPAIR DISCLAIMS ANY WARRANTIES FOR THE SECURITY, RELIABILITY, TIMELINESS, CONTENT, RESULTS, AND PERFORMANCE OF THE SERVICE.

B) NO ENDORSEMENT OF MEMBER CONTENT: YOU, THE USER ACKNOWLEDGE AND AGREE THAT YOU ARE THE INFORMATION CONTENT PROVIDER OF YOUR OWN CONTENT AND THAT GREATAUPAIR DOES NOT PROVIDE, EDIT OR ENDORSE THE CONTENT OF ANY MEMBER AND IS NOT RESPONSIBLE OR LIABLE FOR ANY CONTENT, EVEN THOUGH IT MAY BE UNLAWFUL, HARASSING, DEFAMATORY, LIBELOUS, PRIVACY INVADING, ABUSIVE, THREATENING, DISCRIMINATORY, HARMFUL, VULGAR, OBSCENE, OR OTHERWISE OBJECTIONABLE, OR THAT IT INFRINGES OR MAY INFRINGE THE INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY OR OTHER RIGHTS OF ANOTHER. YOU ACKNOWLEDGE THAT GREATAUPAIR DOES NOT PRE-SCREEN ALL CONTENT, BUT THAT GREATAUPAIR AND ITS DESIGNEES WILL HAVE THE RIGHT (BUT NOT THE OBLIGATION) IN THEIR SOLE DISCRETION TO REFUSE, SUSPEND, MOVE OR REMOVE ANY CONTENT THAT IS PUBLICLY AVAILABLE VIA THE SERVICE.

C) LIMITATION OF LIABILITY: YOU, THE USER, ACKNOWLEDGE AND AGREE THAT GREATAUPAIR WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY HARMS, WHICH LAWYERS AND COURTS OFTEN CALL DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO, DAMAGES FOR LOSS OF PROFITS, GOODWILL, USE, DATA OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES (EVEN IF GREATAUPAIR HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES), RESULTING FROM: (i) THE USE OF THE SERVICE OR THE INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE; (ii) THE COST OF GETTING SUBSTITUTE GOODS AND SERVICES RESULTING FROM ANY PRODUCTS, DATA, INFORMATION OR SERVICES PURCHASED OR OBTAINED OR MESSAGES RECEIVED OR TRANSACTIONS ENTERED INTO THROUGH OR FROM THE SERVICE; (iii) THE DOWNLOAD OR UPLOAD OF ANY MATERIAL THROUGH THE SERVICE (iv) UNAUTHORIZED ACCESS TO OR ALTERATION OF YOUR DATA OR TRANSMISSIONS; (v) THE STATEMENTS OR CONDUCT OF ANYONE USING OR ACCESSING THE SERVICE; OR (vi) ANY OTHER MATTER RELATING TO THE SERVICE, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO ANY ARRANGEMENTS MADE BETWEEN YOU AND OTHER USERS OF THE SERVICE. THE FOREGOING DISCLAIMERS, WAIVERS AND LIMITATIONS SHALL APPLY NOTWITHSTANDING ANY FAILURE OF ESSENTIAL PURPOSE OF ANY LIMITED REMEDY.

D) INDEMNIFICATION: YOU AGREE TO PROTECT, DEFEND, AND FULLY COMPENSATE GREATAUPAIR, ITS AFFILIATES, DIRECTORS, OWNERS, AND SERVICE PROVIDERS FROM AND AGAINST ANY AND ALL THIRD-PARTY CLAIMS, LIABILITY, DAMAGES, EXPENSES AND COSTS (INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, REASONABLE ATTORNEYS FEES) ARISING FROM OR RELATED IN ANY WAY TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, YOUR VIOLATION OF THE TERMS OR YOUR INFRINGEMENT, OR INFRINGEMENT BY ANY OTHER USER OF YOUR ACCOUNT, OF ANY INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY OR OTHER RIGHT OF ANYONE.

Acceptance of General Terms of Use

By using the "Service", GreatAuPair, and/or by applying for or receiving membership services from GreatAuPair, you represent that you are of legal age to form a binding contract and have full power, capacity and authority to accept these Terms of Use and you acknowledge that you are bound by the terms and conditions set forth herein. All legal issues arising from or related to the use of this "Service" or GreatAuPair's website shall be construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Texas without regard to conflicts of law principles. Exclusive jurisdiction for any claim or dispute against GreatAuPair resides in the courts of Texas State. These Terms of Use constitute the entire agreement between you and GreatAuPair with respect to the use of this "Service" and the GreatAuPair website. GreatAuPair's failure to enforce any right or provision in these Terms of Use shall not constitute a waiver of such right or provision or of any other rights or provisions in these Terms of Use. If a court should find that one or more rights or provisions set forth in these Terms of Use are invalid, you agree that the remainder of the Terms of Use shall be enforceable and that the invalid provision shall be enforceable to the fullest extent permitted by law.

Privacy Policy

This privacy policy applies to www.GreatAuPair.com and www.GreatAuPairUSA.com the "Sites" (or "Site") which are owned and operated by GreatAuPair, LLC (GreatAuPair). As part of our Terms of Use, your explicit consent to this privacy policy is required upon registration. This privacy policy describes how GreatAuPair collects and uses the personally identifiable information that you voluntarily submit on our websites. It also describes the choices available to you regarding our use of your personally identifiable information and how you can access, update or remove your information from our websites.

It is GreatAuPair's policy to maintain strict security and privacy practices to protect its systems and its customer data. GreatAuPair maintains compliance with U.S. State and Federal laws, as well as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) for EU residents, effective May 25, 2018, and the California Consumer Protection Act (“CCPA”) effective January 1, 2020, that applies to California residents. Anti-Spam & UCE Policy

GreatAuPair does not send out unsolicited commercial emails or any form of spam. Please read our Unsolicited Commercial Email Policy to see what you can do to correctly identify spammers and put an end to their emails. CCPA Compliance

GreatAuPair complies with The California Consumer Protection Act (“CCPA”) as applicable. Similar to existing legal requirements, compliance with the CCPA requires a partnership between GreatAuPair and its customers in their use of our services. We are also dedicated to helping our customers comply with the CCAP. GreatAuPair has a firm commitment to safeguarding the privacy of its members' Personally Identifiable Information and being transparent with you regarding how data is collected, and how GreatAuPair processes information we collect about you and how you can control the collection, correction and/or deletion of such information when you use our Websites: https://www.greataupair.com/ or https://www.greataupairusa.com/, including on a mobile device and related services (the “Service“ or the “Services”) or any other service to which this policy is linked. GreatAuPair is also transparent about which third parties may have access to your data.

The following section on CCPA, Cal. Civ. Code § 1798.100 which is effective January 1, 2020, applies to California residents who have certain rights regarding the personal information (as defined in the CCPA) collected by GreatAuPair. It does not cover personal information not subject to the CCPA rights identified below, such as the personal information we collect from our employees or job applicants. Likewise, the CCPA does not extend all the rights identified below to personal information collected from employees, owners, directors, officers, or contractors of businesses in the course of our provision or receipt of business-related services.

Definitions

1. “Personal information” or “PI” also known and referred to herein as Personally Identifiable Information or “PII” is information that identifies, relates to, describes, is capable of being associated with, or could reasonably be linked, directly or indirectly, with a particular consumer or household.
2. “Consumer” is a California resident, a natural person who is a California resident for other than a temporary or transitory purpose, or someone who is domiciled in California but is currently outside the State for a temporary or transitory purpose.
3. “Sale” means selling, renting, releasing, disclosing, disseminating, making available, transferring, or otherwise communicating orally, in writing, or by electronic or other means, a consumer’s personal information by GreatAuPair to another business or a third party for monetary or other valuable consideration.

California residents have the following rights under CCPA

1. Right to Opt Out. You have the right, at any time, to direct us to not sell your PI. You may Opt Out by canceling your account on your My Account page or get more information by clicking on the “Do Not Sell My Information Link” found at the bottom ‘Footer’ section of our Site.
1. Sale of PI. Under the CCPA, sale is also broadly defined such that it may include allowing third parties to receive certain information, such as cookies, IP address, and/or browsing behavior, to deliver targeted advertising on the Services or other services.
2. Categories of PI We Provide and Purposes of the Sale. We provide the following categories of information to third parties for these purposes: including identifiers, geolocation information, professional or employment related data, background check and reference check results and physical characteristics or descriptions.
3. Purpose of the Sale: We may provide the following categories of personal information to third parties for these purposes:
1. For online targeted advertising purposes: device identifiers (such as browsing history; geolocation information; social media information), and
2. For sharing with third parties to send you relevant job or candidate options or offers and promotions and opportunities, such as when you sign up to promote your profile for a job opening or as a candidate or when you sign up for an event or to receive more information and provide categories of information to us: identifiers, professional or employment-related data (such as your job title, work history or current company), and physical characteristics or descriptions (such as if you provide a picture or video of yourself or your family).
3. For the fulfillment of services such as background checks and references, GreatAuPair may provide third parties with any information you provide to us such as personal identifiers including but not limited to your social security number, current and former names, work history, addresses, phone numbers and personal details which may be combined with additional data and compiled into reports that are made available to paid members of our Sites.
2. Right to Know or Right to be Informed. Subject to certain exceptions, you have the right to know what specific pieces of PI GreatAuPair have collected about you in the 12 months preceding your request, along with the categories of sources of that PI, our business or commercial purpose for disclosing your PI, and the categories of third parties with whom we share your PI. You may make this request no more than twice per 12-month period.
3. Right to Request Deletion. You have the right to request deletion of the PI GreatAuPair has collected from you, subject to certain exceptions under the CCPA including, without limitation:
1. Complying with GreatAuPair’s legal or compliance obligations,
2. Retention of GreatAuPair’s financial records, which may include PI related to payments you may have made to GreatAuPair,
3. Detecting fraudulent behavior or security incidents, and
4. Other reasons that are in connection with our lawful internal uses that are consistent with your relationship with us and the context in which the information was collected.

Exercising Your Rights under CCPA

You can exercise any of your rights under CCPA by emailing us at [email protected].

We will take reasonable steps to verify your identity before responding to a request, which may include the following:

1. If you are exercising your Right to Delete or a similar right that does not require the disclosure of specific pieces of information about you:
1. If you are writing to us from the email address associated with your GreatAuPair account or transactions that GreatAuPair has on file for you, then to complete the verification process, we will ask you to confirm the action you wish us to take before we proceed (such as confirming you would like us to delete your information).
2. If you are not writing to us from the email address associated with your GreatAuPair account or you are unable to provide alternate forms of verification that GreatAuPair has on file for you, then to complete the verification process, we will ask you to provide 3 specific pieces of data that we have on file for you, such as the answer to your secret question, the email address you used when creating your account or billing information such as the last 4 digits of the credit card used or the billing address.
2. If you are exercising your Right to Delete or a similar right that does require the disclosure of specific pieces of information about you:
1. If you are writing to us from the email address associated with your GreatAuPair account or transactions that GreatAuPair has on file for you, then to complete the verification process, we will ask you to both: 1) confirm the action you wish us to take before we proceed and 2) also provide a statement that you “declare under penalty of perjury that you are the person about whom the Right to Know request has been made.”
2. If you are not writing to us from the email address associated with your GreatAuPair account or you are unable to provide alternate forms of verification that GreatAuPair has on file for you, we will ask you to both: 1) provide 3 specific pieces of data that we have on file for you, such as the answer to your secret question, the email address you used when creating your account or billing information such as the last 4 digits of the credit card used or the billing address, and 2) also provide a statement that you “declare under penalty of perjury that you are the person about whom the Right to Know request has been made.”
3. You are also permitted to designate an authorized agent to submit certain requests on your behalf. In order for an authorized agent to be verified, you must provide the authorized agent with signed, written permission to make such requests or a power of attorney. We may also follow up with you to verify your identity according to the above methods before processing the authorized agent’s request.
4. If we are not able to successfully verify you according to the above methods, then we will not be able to comply with your request.

GreatAuPair will not discriminate against you if you exercise your rights under CCPA. However, if your request requires us to delete, restrict or not share information, please be advised that this will inhibit some functionality of the Site. Any subsequent interaction with the Site after deletion will require new requests for action on your data.

Other rights of California Residents

By accepting the GreatAuPair Terms of Use, you acknowledge and grant permission to GreatAuPair to use your Personal Contact Information as specifically stated under Uses of Personal Contact Information, herein, through GreatAuPair's services and its websites.

Search engines may index publicly available information from your profile, such as your first name, your city, and other public data that is searchable by anyone on the Internet. Search engines do not have access to any Personal Contact Information contained within the fields of a profile, some of which are available only to paid members of the GreatAuPair service. Personal Contact Information is defined as first and last name together, email address, phone number, and physical street address. We also collect your credit card number and related billing information if you make a purchase. With your permission, we will also supplement data through a background check as needed to satisfy U.S. Department of State Au Pair Program Requirements and or for pre-employment screening.

Uses of Personal Contact Information

Paid members may see your first and last name listed on your profile. You have the option of providing your phone number, which you may elect to display or not display to paid members; either families or care providers who are claiming to seek a working relationship with you as a result of your online registration. Your email address is not visible to anyone, except to those whom you directly send an email during the time you have a paid subscription. Your physical address is not revealed on the website. A map showing the location of your city or zip code is available and may be seen by registered users. No representations or warranties are made regarding the legitimacy of the claims of those who have paid for a membership subscription to contact you through GreatAuPair's private messaging system which relies on your Personal Contact Information. You are urged to validate the identity of anyone who contacts you and utilize the background check resources available to you through the GreatAuPair service before making any commitments or arrangements. We do not sell, share, rent or trade personally identifiable information with third parties for their promotional purposes.

The information you provide during registration may also be used to enable us to process, validate and verify services or membership subscription purchases. We may also provide advertisers with aggregate - never individual - information about our member base and usage patterns. We may also use the aggregated information to develop new features and services to better meet member needs.

Internally we may use aggregated and personally identifiable information to improve our marketing efforts, to statistically analyze site usage, to improve our content and product offerings as well as to customize our site's content and layout. We believe these uses allow us to improve our site and better tailor your online experience to meet your needs.

We also may use personally identifiable information about you to deliver information to you that, in some cases, is targeted to your interests, such as GreatAuPair services, news, updates, promotions, Favorites notifications or FastMatch emails. Updating/Accessing/Amending/Correcting Personally Identifiable Information

Communications from the Site
