Introduction

My name is Maryam. I love spending my days caring for animals and making sure they feel happy, safe, and loved while their owners are away. Every pet has its own personality, and I take the time to understand their needs, whether it’s a high-energy dog that loves long walks or a shy cat that prefers quiet companionship. My goal is to provide not just basic care but a fun and enriching experience for every pet I look after.

A Typical Day in My Life as a Pet Sitter & Dog Walker
My day starts bright and early with morning dog walks. Whether it’s a short stroll around the block or a longer walk in the park, I make sure each dog gets the exercise and fresh air they need to start their day on a happy note. Some dogs love to explore and sniff every tree and bush, while others enjoy a brisk walk to burn off energy. If I’m looking after an older or more relaxed dog, I adjust the pace to make sure they’re comfortable.

After the first round of walks, I check in on pets at their homes. This includes feeding them, making sure they have fresh water, and giving them some extra love and attention. For cats, I clean their litter boxes and spend time playing with them or just sitting nearby to keep them company. Some cats love to chase toys or bat at a feather wand, while others are perfectly happy curling up beside me while I read or talk to them.

By midday, it’s time for more dog walks and playtime! This is when I get to engage dogs in some fun activities. Some love a game of fetch, others enjoy a run in a safe, enclosed area, and some are just happy to sniff around and take in the sights and smells. If the owner allows, I might take them to a dog-friendly park for extra excitement. I also introduce mental stimulation games like treat puzzles, hide-and-seek, or basic training exercises to keep their minds active. These activities help prevent boredom and reinforce good behavior.

For pets who stay at home while their owners are away for long hours, I provide companionship to make sure they don’t feel lonely. This could be as simple as sitting with them, giving belly rubs, or engaging them in gentle play. Many pets, especially dogs, thrive on human interaction, and I make sure they feel loved and cared for.
In the afternoon, I continue with more check-ins and additional walks for pets who need it. I also ensure that any special care is provided, such as administering medications, brushing fur, or cleaning up after them. Keeping their environment clean and comfortable is just as important as giving them attention.
As the day winds down, I make sure each pet has everything they need before their owner returns or before bedtime. This includes feeding dinner, refilling water bowls, taking dogs for their final walk, and giving them some quiet cuddle time if they enjoy it. For more playful pets, I might spend extra time engaging them in fun activities, ensuring they go to bed happy and relaxed.

Fun Activities Pets Get to Enjoy!
One of the best parts of being a pet sitter and dog walker is seeing how much fun pets can have throughout the day. Here are some of the exciting activities I offer:
Park Adventures: If approved by the owner, I take dogs to local parks where they can run, play, and socialize with other friendly dogs.
Fetch & Tug-of-War: Many dogs love to chase after balls or play tug with a rope toy—it’s a great way to burn energy and have fun.
Sniffing & Exploration Walks: Some dogs love to follow their noses, so I give them time to explore new scents during our walks.
Training & Tricks: I incorporate basic training like "sit," "stay," and "paw" into playtime, making learning fun and rewarding.
Treat Puzzles & Hide-and-Seek: I hide treats around the house or use puzzle toys to keep dogs and cats mentally engaged.
Bubble Chasing: Some dogs (and even cats!) love to chase non-toxic bubbles—it’s a simple but fun activity that keeps them entertained.
Cuddle & Relaxation Time: For pets who prefer calm interaction, I spend time sitting with them, giving belly rubs, or simply keeping them company.
Every pet is different, and I tailor my care to fit their unique needs. Whether it’s an energetic pup who needs lots of playtime or a quiet cat who just wants companionship, I make sure they feel comfortable, happy, and loved.

I truly love what I do because pets bring so much joy and companionship, and I enjoy giving that back to them. It’s more than just a job—it’s a passion, and I take pride in making sure every pet I care for has a great experience while their owners are away.
