Dear Family,
Wish I could figure out how to un-crop my head in my default! Click on it and there is a head there :) I am currently working for and living in Brooklyn with the most amazing family. I am starting culinary school at the French Culinary Institute in Manhattan in the fall and will no longer be able to travel with my current employers. I am looking for a live-out position with anywhere from 30-50 consistent weekly hours. I have extensive experience as a full-time nanny and personal cook. Prior to my current job, I worked for a family in my college town. I began working for them as their 2 year-olds nanny shortly before their twins were born. I worked with all three until the twins' first birthday. We still have a great friendship and communicate frequently. The year before that I worked for a family in Ireland and Los Angeles with whom I am also still in contact. My current job and the job in Ireland were secured through this website! The family I work for now consists of three amazing and energetic little girls, ages 1, 3, and 6 and their wonderful parents. I do everything from getting them ready to school in the am to putting them to bed at night. I just got back from taking the eldest two on a solo trip to Disney!
I'm well-educated, cultured, and well- mannered. I've traveled extensively throughout North America and Europe. I'm careful, thoughtful, and really enjoy life. I can change a diaper with one hand, cook, clean, and think up great stories and imaginative games. As a longtime childcare provider I believe children should be treated with all the love and respect possible. That being said, I am confident in my abilities as an effective "disciplinarian"... though I don't like that word :). I love sunshine, cooking, writing, performing arts of all kinds, outdoor sports, and I'd like to share these things with your family! Full disclosure: I am a huge health nut. My goal in life is to combine my passion for the culinary arts with my interest in local/sustainable farming and proper nutrition. I think being outside and active is extremely important for children both physically and mentally. I'm non-judgmental about these topics but have opinions and love to share them when I think they're welcome.
