Hello! We are a family of 5 with three children (2 girls & a boy) ages 9, 8, and almost 5. We are looking for a part-time caregiver to support our family in the afternoons/evenings after school 3-5 days per week. This would involve picking up the younger two children from school (within walking distance) and walking home, and then being home when the oldest gets off the bus, to go through the after-school routine with everyone. Our oldest child is autistic so we would like someone who has experience and an understanding of autism/ASD, and who is flexible, patient, and supportive. We are also looking for someone who isn't easily overwhelmed by the noise and activity three energetic children, and who is a good communicator and partner to the parents. We have some flexibility to negotiate the number of days per week, and hours per day with the right candidate. We are a family of 5 with three kids (ages 9, 8, and nearly 5) looking for help in the afternoons/evenings 3-5 days per week. The commitment would be between 2.5 and 3 hours each day (to be negotiated). It would involve picking up the younger two children (boy & girl) from school by 3:30pm, walking them home (approximately a 10-15 minute walk) and then being at home when the oldest (girl) gets off the bus around 4pm. Then it would be going through the after-school routine of getting the kids to unpack their bags, go to the washroom, have a snack and do some homework/read. Oldest child is autistic (ASD - level 1) so requires additional support/guidance/prompts when following after-school routine and moving between activities.

Mom works from home so would be around most days unless she has an in-person meeting downtown. Dad is currently away for work for an extended period.

The ideal candidate would be open to watching children without parents present (for example, watching 2 of the 3 children, while Mom takes one child to an appointment) and/or walking middle child to extra-curricular activity in the neighbourhood.
