Dear Family:


I am Paulina (Paula), a 37 years old Romanian, living in England for the past 10 years. Although I love it here, the weather started to get to me and I really miss the sun, therefore I am looking to relocate and continue doing what I love, which is working with children. I am very interested in working for your family as a nanny, so thank you for your interest in my application.
I come from a large family of 10 children, where I am being the youngest. My parents are Giurgi (78 years old) who is a retired carpenter and Elena, who died in 2015 from a stroke. My siblings are one sister and eight brothers and I will give you some details in age order starting with my eldest brother.
Tony is 54 years old, married to Paulina and has 3 children (Dana, Oana and Paul)
Jon is 53 years old, divorced from Iuliana and has 2 children (Oana and Lolo)
Augustin would have been 52 years old but died of cancer in June this year.
Ferent would have been 49 years old but died in 2011 of throat cancer.
Mihai is 46 years old, married to Brigita and has 2 girls (Cristina and Francisca)
Lucian is 43 years old, married to Lili
Maria is 41 years old, single
Luca is 40 years old, married to Ramona and has 1 boy (David)
Petre is 38 years old, married to Alina and has 1 girl (Caterina)
My first qualification was as social worker and I worked for 3.5 years with families and children within an NGO and then in a counselling centre for Child Protection Department in Romania. After that I took some time off to travel and have been an aupair for 1 year in Chicago, US, where I looked after 2 children aged 1 and 6. It was then when I discovered the enjoyment that brings working daily with kids. Then I came to England as an live in aupair for nearly 2 years after which period I moved out and continued as self employed for a number of families working in child care, house and pet sitting as well as housekeeping.
While in England I finish a joint degree in Archaeology and Heritage Studies joint with Human Geography. Although does not have a direct interest with children, I chosen this degree because meets one of my wide interest of continuing education, learning about the past and learning how to participate actively and positively in the current continuous change of the world. Also, I wanted to have the option in the future to go into teaching so this would be the base for that. Furthermore, I want to mention that in my free time I enjoy taking online courses learning about things that I like.
Furthermore, want to point out that I am an easy going women, funny, very flexible, adaptable and reliable so you will not need to worry at all about the children and your house while at work. I like regular pets (cats, dogs, etc) but not so much snakes, rodents, etc. I love cooking, and although I am more customised with the European cuisine I am opened to try anything new. However, I am a big believer in healthy eating so I cook the meals from scratch. I am an experienced driver and do not mind to run errands along with the child care and cleaning.
I am presently looking for a nanny/housekeeping position for a family in Canada, with whom I can work for a minimum of 1 year, but shorter commitments will be considered as well. Preferably, I would like to live in British Colombia, especially in Vancouver area but I am open to other areas as well. I am comfortable and have over 10 years experience looking after children starting with the age of 1. I did a 3 day First Aid course in New York, which was mandatory for aupairs in America. However, it was back in 2005, so if necessary then I can do it again before starting working for you.
