Dear Host Family, my name is Juliet, and I am a 39 year old Filipina native from a village north of Manila called Penaranda. I am a single mother of two beautiful children, a boy named Jastine , and a girl named Bea. I have 4 siblings and They take care of my children while I work to help support the family. Their houses are close together so all the children play together. My parents both passed away a few years ago. It's from them I learned to value work hard, and I would come home from school to help them raise chickens and work in our garden. They taught me so much, and I am proud to have had them for parents. I carry their memory with me everywhere I go. My family and I are all Christian, and on the weekends, I go to church and have fellowship with my friends from church to sing and pray. I am respectful when it comes to others' beliefs, though, and I keep my religious beliefs to myself; I never push them onto anyone. When I go home between contract renewals, I always help out with the housework and cooking. I love to cook, too, and love to try new foods and dishes. I love to spend time with my children and play games with them, or do fun activities at home and have fun with my children. We have cats and a dog at home. I love animals, and don't mind caring for them. My current host a Chinese family don't have pets because they are not allowed to in their apartment. The first thing I do when working for a new family is to learn their routines and adjust my own so as not to be a bother. I'm pretty casual but I keep my belongings organized. I keep myself and my surroundings neat and clean, and I keep the house clean, too. I find out the meal plans, and when I go shopping, I plan accordingly. I am a self-starter, so once I know the routine, I adapt to it quickly. As for myself, my first language is Tagalog, and I also speak English fluently and know a little Chinese. I am fairly active, and walk wherever I need to go. I enjoy sports, and used to play softball ,and track and field in high school. I still try to watch games when I have free time. I love being an au pair because it allows me to meet so many new people and see new places. I enjoy being around children, and love taking them to the park, or the library and reading to them. I also enjoy sharing hobbies with them, like sports and games. Having grown up around my cousins, I learned to care for children when I was young, so it's something I definitely enjoy and know how to do! I've been caring for children almost my whole life because of how close our family lives and because of it's size. I feel lucky to have grown up with such a large family. I've learned to cope with being away from family for long periods of time by spending time at Church and making new helps me not feel lonely by allowing me to talk to my family when I'm not working, but I love it and feel blessed to have become an au pair. I am very excited about this job as I love to travel and meet new people and experience new cultures. I would also like to attend college for computer programming, and I'm saving money to try to find correspondence courses. I've made so many happy memories as au pair, and I've met so many nice people and gotten the chance to experience different cultures. I have been absolutely blessed and I am careful to never take this job for granted. As far as preferences are concerned, I'm looking for a live-in arrangement with a host family that would be happy to have me stay with and work for them for at least 6 months. I would also prefer looking after children aged between 6 months to 10 years. Lastly, I only ask to have working hours that would allow me to attend Sunday church services. I would be happy to have the opportunity to speak with you to answer whatever questions you may have about me or my childcare experiences; to learn more about your family; your interests and to know more about what you expect from the au pair arrangement.
Thank you very much for your time!
