Dear Host Family,
My name is Egielyn Grace, I’m 21 years old, and I’m from Davao City, Philippines. I’m overjoyed at the possibility of joining your household as an Au Pair and beginning this exciting new chapter.
I come from a caring, busy household. My mother, Gernelyn, is an office clerk at a university in Surigao City, near the beautiful Siargao Islands. I have two wonderful younger sisters, Elisha Ghea (16) and Ellaine Faith (9). We all lived together with my grandparents and aunts and uncles in one compound. Growing up in a large family helped me learn how to collaborate, respect others, and share responsibilities daily.
My friends would say I’m cheerful, caring, nurturing, and dependable. I’m hardworking and always attentive to details, traits that come in handy when caring for children or managing small tasks around the house. I absolutely love kids and spend time with them playing games, reading stories, teaching them small lessons, and guiding them through daily routines brings me so much joy.
On weekends, I split my time between outdoor adventures and relaxing at home. I love going hiking, visiting parks, or joining community cleanups. But I also treasure quiet time by journaling my thoughts, reading a good book, or spending time in worship and reflection. Balance is important to me, being active keeps me energized, while still moments help me stay grounded and thoughtful.
Cooking Filipino dishes is one of my favorite ways of caring for children and the family. From adobo, sinigang, and pancake-like tortang talong, to rice-based breakfasts and healthy snacks. Preparing meals from my culture is both comforting and fun. I hope to teach your kids to make lumpia someday!
My current job is as an administrative secretary at a pharmacy. While I enjoy the role, my dream is to be an Au Pair, someone who lives and learns with a loving family, embraces new cultures, and forms lasting bonds. I want my Au Pair experience to be more than a job because it’s my chance to grow, expand my horizons, improve my English, and share my Filipino heart in a new home.
I’ve cared for children of different ages, and I cherish every moment. I took care of Mayriel Jayne from newborn until age four, along with her older brother Matthew, now 17, and occasionally their cousin Vene, who is 12. We played, read, cooked together, and shared bedtime routines. Those families still keep me close and continue to invite me on outings, something that brings me immense joy and gratitude.
I want to be an Au Pair in your country because I’m eager to learn how families live and learn their values, rhythms, rituals, and ways of loving each other. I’d love to be a big sister, helper, and friend to your children. I hope to support them in homework, play, mealtimes, or bedtime routines, while also respecting your parenting style and household rules.
I plan to continue in the Au Pair program after my first placement, as I want to grow and embrace this path fully.
