Hello Families, it’s fall 2023,
I'm Calley and I'm very interested in being your Housekeeper. I have a very, very unique situation & I understand completely if it’s not applicable to your needs.
My little sister (37) has been diagnosed with very aggressive & advanced lower abdominal cancer, meaning several organs are involved. We just learned of this nightmare. I am working as a part-time live-in housekeeper in NY at this moment, but now I am looking for a job in the greater Atlanta area so that I can be within driving distance of my family for the next year at least. My other siblings live in the vicinity as well, we grew up in Marietta, so I know it will be a good thing to move back for a while. I have given my notice to my current employer & she is being more than supportive.
The uniqueness of my situation also requires major flexibility concerning working hours, which is why I’m seeking a housekeeping only position (the job I have now is ideal in every way, except it’s 1,000 miles from my sister). If I get an urgent call from a family member, I will have to leave your house immediately, temporarily, and that must be ok with you, this is why I’m not taking care of humans right now.
Thank you for reading my profile. I have been a live-in care provider in many categories (childcare, elder care, etc.), for 15 of the 17 years of my career. I’m 40, and I’ve cleaned many different styles of homes, in different countries as well. As of right now, I only wish to work my hours & then clock out. If you have children, of course I’m not going to shut down a child: I’ll look at an art project & I’ll hear about a birthday party, make them a sandwich, etc., but I don’t want to watch a movie with them, take them grocery shopping with me, anything that mimics a nanny, please respect that boundary, please don’t even ask. As a rule, I do not want to be expected to eat dinner with you, even if I cooked it (no, the kiddos cannot help me cook), I’ll just eat on my own schedule or take a plate to my room. I do require my own private bed room & bathroom. I need a job in a place where I can do the cleaning (including laundry), run some errands, cook if you want, & then clock out & write & spend time with my sister. Very willing to care for healthy & well behaved pets, walking, take to vet & groomer, etc. I will water your houseplants & do light gardening (I will not mow your lawn)(for that matter I will not wash your car in the driveway with a bucket & sponge, but I will take it to a place & (you) pay someone else to do it, detail, etc.). If you do write me a note on this site, please speak whats on your mind. It’s not my desire to sound stressed but I have no time to waste. I do not smoke or play loud music (if you closet smoke in your backyard I don’t care), so please understand it’s uncomfortable for me to live in a house filled with constant blaring music or tv or gaming or parties, etc. If you have time now, please read over my online interview for more info. I’m looking to start “soon” & will commit to at least 6 months, longer is ideal. I will not work on Saturdays unless it’s an emergency (a real one).
Also, I can have a pretty dry sense of humor about things, life. But, I am serious about needing $10-$16/hr, depending on what the job demands. I do not have a car right now; the use of one of yours is only required if running errands is part of the gig. And, upon accepting your offer I will need to be flown in. If that makes you nervous, I can pay for the ticket but will need to be reimbursed. References upon request.
