I hope this letter meets you in the greatest measure of health. My name is Shevelle and I most certainly account this new and refreshing experience as a privilege. Let me start by saying that I have never pursued the title of a Nanny on a professional basis. Mainly because, in my home country jobs of this nature was not emphasised. Usually it is culture to either register your child for Day Care services or a family member will care for the child at no cost.
My experience as a "Nanny" was as simple as my aunty calling on me at the age of eight to babysit my cousin Matthew on occasions. Matthew had cerebral palsy, he and I were around the same age however I could lift him because he was the size of a tall skinny one year old. It was effortless for me at the time and it did not even seem like work. He could not chew his food so I learned how to feed him. At the time He loved watching the Ellen DeGeneres show, he laughed a lot at my jokes. Matthew was very smart and at times I would easily forget that was not a "regular child". I think he appreciated that. We had a pretty amazing bond up until the day he died.
Kindly note that I do have experience in caring for special needs children as I trained under Student Support Services Division during my time as an On the Job Training Programme.
