How I would care for your daughter or son1. Safety first: Before any activity I check the space for hazards. I follow your rules on food, allergies, sleep, and screen time exactly. When she’s awake, my attention is on her. If anything concerns me, I contact you right away.
2. Respect for routine: Children thrive on consistency. If she has a specific bedtime routine, feeding schedule, or way she likes to be soothed, I’ll follow it closely. I’ll leave you a short note after each session on meals, naps, and activities so you know how her day went.
3. Engaging, age-appropriate play: At one year old, play is how she learns. I plan simple activities like reading board books, singing songs with hand motions, stacking soft blocks, and safe sensory play. I’m happy to get on the floor and follow her lead. The goal is to keep her curious and happy without overstimulating her.
4. Patience and calm guidance: Tantrums and frustration are normal at this age. I don’t raise my voice or use harsh discipline. I use redirection, comfort, and clear, gentle boundaries. A calm adult presence usually helps a child regulate their emotions faster.
