Dear families, my name is Barbara, and I am a 21 year old Haitian-American loving young lady. I was born in Haiti, so I do speak Creole-French. At a young age, children always love to be around me. In high school I use to help at my Church's daycare. Since i was never a sports girl or did any activities in school. I spent my after schools participating and volunteering at a community center as a tutor, and one of the program counselors for 3 years. I started off as just a student at one of their many programs such as music, STEM, forensic, acting and dancing, also even martial arts.. Then eventually I was looked at as a role model for the younger children that attended. I slowly and surely became one of the positive outlooks of the community center. Not only by the staff but also the kids. In my neighborhood its also the same. Parents trust me with their children, since I also have a little sister who I watch every Sunday. Although I never had any paying experience, doesn't mean I don't have any. I just never asked to get paid, I always and still take care of others children for no cost. I love children and since I don't have any, I enjoy making other people's children happy. Seeing a child's smile to me brightens up my day.
