We are a fun loving, busy family of five who moved to Puerto Rico from Florida several years ago. Our daughter is 7 years old, and our sons are 5 and 3 years old respectively.
Both my husband and I are professionals who work from home. When we aren't working, we are very hands-on parents who love being with our children. Dinner, bath, and bed times will most often happen with one or both of us around as well. Our three young kids are active and enrolled in many extra-curricular activities, which is why we need your help.
Also, as native English speakers, our childrens’ Spanish speaking skills have already surpassed ours. It is incredibly important to us that they speak, read and write in Spanish with equal fluency to English. It is our hope that they master more languages as they grow, but being truly bilingual in English and Spanish is an absolute priority for all of us!
We do travel pretty often, and sometimes we hope you will be willing to travel with us or become comfortable enough with the children that you could watch them for an evening on your own. But, there will also be many times that we will travel alone as a family and you will have additional time to yourself.
We have never had an au pair or live-in help before, but we were blessed with a wonderful, local nanny who we love very much. Now that the children are a little older though, our needs have evolved. We are really hoping to find someone who is a bit younger, who is excited about advancing the academic and language skills of our children and who can help me with meal planning, cooking and driving.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Au Pair to join our family and to help us best care for our three young children. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing our children with loving, fun and nurturing care. She will be enthusiastic about providing top quality academic and language support to our children and have a passion for healthy cooking for our family.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage the children in educational and recreational activities such as reading, playing games, and going on outings
- Assist with the children's homework and school projects
- Provide top quality academic and language support to our children; plan and implement educational activities and games to help children learn and improve their language skills.
- Help children improve their reading, writing, and speaking skills in both Spanish and English
- Assist with driving children from school to various after school activities
- Plan, prepare and cook nutritious meals for the family on a daily basis
- Shop for groceries and other household supplies as needed
- Help with light household chores such as laundry, tidying up, and cleaning as needed
- Occasional travel with the family as needed
Qualifications and Skills:
- Fluent in both Spanish and English, with excellent verbal and written communication skills in both languages
- Experience and/or training as a healthy cooking chef, preferably in a family setting
- Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with children of different ages
- Experience and/or demonstrated interest in tutoring children of similar ages in topics such as language, reading, math, science.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- A valid driver's license and clean driving record
CPR and first aid certification is a plus
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; Collegiate Degree or equivalent preferred
- Culinary degree or certification in healthy cooking is a plus
- Experience working as a tutor, au pair or nanny
This is a full-time position with a schedule that includes evenings and occasionally, weekends as needed. Most of the time our Au Pair will enjoy Saturdays, Saturday nights and most of the day Sunday to herself if she prefers to be alone. The successful candidate will have a private bedroom and bathroom in our home and access to a car for running errands and taking the children to and from school and activities.
