Young adults (age 17,19 and 21). We are a nice, happy and very lively family. We are looking for an aupair who can help me organise the daily routine, by keeping the house tidy and filled with a happy sound. A driver's license only if possible.
We have had phillipine aupairs for 9 years (Cezyl stayed with us for 4 years (I am now the godmother of her child), Miliza stayed with us for 6 years, Maria stayed with us for 1 year, she is now now living with her husband). And Nicky stayed with us last year, she is now about to become a mum living with her boyfriend. You are most welcome to give her a call.
To describe our family (most of this can be found also in our job description):
My husband has his own business and works hard and travels a lot, but loves to spend time with the kids when he is at home! I am a doctor and work about 1-3 days a week. Our daughter, Marili, (21) is a very warm and cheerful girl. She lives in South Africa. She has some learning disabilities. She works in an animal shelter and only comes home for the holidays. Our eldest son, Willem (19) is a cheerful guy who studies at university in Delft, where he also lives. He sometimes comes home during the weekend. Our youngest son, Maarten (19) is always laughing.
In our spare time, we love to go to the beach (my husband and i both love kitesurfing) - and we like to go out and about on the spur of the moment. We have a busy social life, with lots of friends over or we visit friends.
We are looking for someone who is cheerful, proactive and is flexible - we also want you to be hands on and willing to help out where needed.

1. What qualities are most important to you in the aupair/nanny that you hire?
That she is cheerful, flexible and patient.
2. Could you tell me about the children's medical history, education level, and current activities in which they participate? What are the personality traits of your children?
Our daughter, Marili, (21), no longer lives in the house. She moved to South Africa only to come back home once in a while. She is a very warm and cheerful girl. Over there she works in an animal shelter. She loves horsebackriding. Our eldest son, Willem (19) no longer lives in the house. He is now studying at University. Our youngest son, Maarten 17 years old, still live at home. He is always laughing.
3. What does your family like to do for fun?
We go to the beach. We live right by the beach. Because our entire family lives abroad, we travel a lot (mainly France, Spain). We tend to organise things in the spur of the moment. Me and my husband like to kitesurf.
4. What duties will be expected of the aupair/nanny?
I am not looking for an aupair, but more for someone who can look after the house. The kids are old enough to take care of themselves, but I like that there is always someone at home for them. I would like her to help me around the house so that it stays tidy and clean. Do the laundry and ironing. We have 2 dogs so I would like her to walk them when we are not there. I would like her to cook and set the table at night, although I also cook often. She can eat with the family if you want, but most aupairs choose not to or a few days a week. The aupairs we have are usually very happy with the freedom of setting their own time.
5. Can you give me a rough idea of the daily schedule?
Start at 9.00 help tidying the house. You can do it at you own pace. 17.00: cook the dinner if you like doing that. In between walking the dogs.
6. What are your expectations of the aupair/nanny's role in the family? I would like her to keep the house tidy and be cheerful.
7. What modes of discipline and parenting style do you use?
We are a somewhat chaotic and not too strict family. It would be nice if our nanny would be a little more organised than us, so that she could help getting some rhythm in the day.
8. Do you and your husband work outside the home or maintain a home business?
My husband works 3-5 days a week outside the house. I work 3 days a week outside the house.
9. What are your occupations and work hours?
My husband is an entrepreneur and I am a doctor.
10. Is traveling with the family part of the job?
Yes, if possible.
11. Do you as the parents travel for pleasure where the children would not be included and if so, about how often would this occur?
We try to do this once a year but usually one of the grandparents comes to help with the kids.
12. Do you as the parents travel for business? If so, how often, and will this position require me to care for the children during those times?
No, only my husband does.
13. How will compensation for overtime be handled?
Our last nanny we payed €600 a month, she worked 30 hours a week.
14. Are there any pets in the home? If yes, who is responsible for their care?
Yes, 2 lovely dogs. Usually I take care of her but in the working days I would like you to walk them (we live right by the beach)
15. Who does meal planning, cooking, and grocery shopping?
That depends, mixed mostly. I do the big groceries. You might have to run to the shop for small things once in a while.
16. Do you mind if I practice my religion or spiritual path if it is different than yours?
Not really, if it is not too extreme.

none
18. What housekeeping tasks would you need me to assist you with?
Keeping the house tidy and clean. (for example: laundry, ironing, tidying up clothes (ours and kids) cleaning up the breakfast, setting the table)
19. What is the compensation that you are offering for this position, inclusive of any benefits?
We would pay €600 if you also want to do the thorough cleaning of the house.
20. Could you describe the accommodations where I'd be staying and share briefly about the area you live in?
You would have your own room and your own bathroom.
You will have your your own bedroom (4m x 4m) with your own bathroom . We live right by the beach, in a nice neighbourhood.
