We are looking for a supportive and reliable person who loves kids to assist our family with child care support and light housekeeping. We are ready to welcome you into our home, get to know you as a person and we look forward to familiarize with the Filippino culture.
We leave in a beautiful suburb/village surrounded by nature, but at the same time we are less than 20-30 minutes away (by free public transport) from the busy Luxembourg city centre offering a very interesting social life.
The area surrounding our house offers excellent opportunities for outdoor activities such as cycling, jogging, trekking, while the city of Luxembourg offers a variety of shopping possibilities, nice cafes, bars, fitness clubs, language classes and many-many cultural events, particularly in the spring/summer months.
Luxembourg has also a quite developed Filippino community which you can join if you wish.
Luxembourg, being the financial centre of Europe, is very well connected by train, bus and road to lots of interesting cities reachable within a couple of hours. Over the weekend you could decide to explore Paris, Brussels, Cologne and so many more.
We will fully support you in your adventure as an aupair and we are ready to share, if you wish, our own culture with you.

Our family
We are a family of three living in Luxembourg for the last 15 years. The kids are 10 year old twin boys attending the European school. Their main languages are Greek and English.
As our days are quite busy, we could really benefit from the support of someone reliable and flexible, who is kind with the kids, to help me in the daily routines.
Our living situation
The au-pair would live-in our house which is located in a nice village 20-30 minutes from Luxembourg city centre, next to the forest, perfect for close by exploring and hiking in one of the nicest areas of the country.
Our region
The living location is 20-30 minutes from Luxembourg city centre (by public transport), surrounded by forest and fields. The area is very safe, quiet and beautiful.
Also, the perfect central location of Luxembourg itself, makes it the ideal place for an aupair to discover a lot of nearby cities, for example Paris and Brussels are 2 hours way, as many other interesting cities in Europe. Connections to these destinations are frequent and various so you will have plenty of time to get to know Luxembourg or explore nearby countries/cities during the weekends.
What we do in our free time
The kids like to spend time outside, weather permitting of course. We would go for a walk in the forest, or arrange a playdate outside with their friends. We also aim to visit places quite often (less with corona lately unfortunately) so the kids get to opportunity learn new things and new people/cultures. For weekends trips we usually choose cities with interesting sites and nature in the countries around Luxembourg and we visit by car.
When the weather is not as pleasant we like to play board games by the fireplace listening to music and the kids also spend a lot of time with their legos., which they love. Crafting is also one of their favourite activities.
Screen time (television, tablet etc) is limited in our family during weekends.
We also like very much to read books, a habit that the kids have developed since they were very young.
Other things our au pair should know
Our family is not vegetarian or vegan.
We enjoy our time together around the table (whenever this is possible :-)).
We typically eat plenty of fruits and vegetables and follow a balanced diet with lots of fresh products. We like the mediteranean cuisine but we are very open and willing to taste/learn the local dishes from the aupair's country.
One of the children is allergic to nuts, therefore we have adjusted our diet to that.
We have had an excellent experience with our two au pairs from Philippines so we would happily welcome another a Philippino au pair to our family.

The kids school schedule entails 3 or 4 longs and 2 or 1 short days at school (depending on the class).
They have to take the bus for school at 07:30 from the bus stop further down the street.
On long days they return by bus between 17:30 and 18:00 and they have dinner and do their homework before they go to bed (latest by 21:00).
On short days they return from school by bus at 14:00 and they have lunch until 15:00 when they start their online tutoring typically for around 2 hours. If they are finished with their homework by that time they play/read until bed time.
On Saturday they have some activities which depend every year on their schedule. They are currently playing tennis and do robotics. During the weekends we usually organize some playdates with their friends or arrange for a short trip.
The support provided by you will be on average 25 hours per week. Weekends are free. Upon mutual prior agreement 2-3 hours on a Saturday (morning or afternoon) could be organized for a "babysitting" so I can do all the grocery & shopping that cannot be done on-line :-).
I would very much like your support in the following:
- preparing the kids for school and taking them to the bus stop in the morning;
- picking the kids from the bus stop and walking them home;
- cook for the kids on weekdays;
- prepare lunch/snack bags for school;
- oversee that the kids complete their homework (no tutoring required as dedicated teachers are doing this);
- reading books in English with the kids, playing board games, engage in outdoor activities and generally spend qualititative time with them;
- Light housekeeping work such as: maintain the kids rooms and common house areas tidy, clean and keep tidy own room and bathroom to be used by the aupair, emptying the wastebins/recycling bins and dishwasher, do the kids' laundry, using robots for vacuuming/cleaning floors (please note that cleaning services are provided by a professional on a regular basis).
- Occasionally (not often) you may "babysit" during an evening (to be known well in advance and upon prior agreement).
Indicative schedule would include 45 minutes in the morning (approximately 06:45 to 07:30), and then either from either 14:00 (one day per week) or from 17:30 depending on the school schedule and until 21:00.
The benefits of being an aupair in Luxembourg, including pocket money (approximately Euro 510 per month), are defined by the Luxembourgish state and we will follow the local rules and the contract.
Our family will also happily support you in the cost of a language or culture course of your choice and arrange for your insurance.
The au-pair would live-in our house, occupying a very nice east facing bedroom with modern decor, a big television and a direct view towards the forest/fields, next to the kids' rooms (we are happy to provide photos of the room if you wish). The bathroom is to be shared with the kids. The house has a very good internet connection which will be at your disposal.
