Dear future aupair,
Here is some general info:
When-from January 2024, for min 2 months but can go up to September 2024 if we both agree.
Where : Our house near Palma de Mallorca - large house with a nice greed garden with fruit and olive trees and a swimming pool. You will have a room with its own bathroom. We will ask you to travel with us for holidays - we have planned to travel to France, the UK, Cyprus and Thailand during the first half of 2024.
Our family :
Our son David is 14 since June 2023. He is smart, excelling in math, science and languages (he speaks 6 or 7), loves crafting things and the great outdoors, especially fishing and hunting with his father. Lately he is becoming a typical teenager -with his own conflicting opinion, his whys and nos, his sometimes surly faces , difficult to argue with ).
Our daughter Nika , who turned 7 in March 2023, is in her own eyes the boss of the family and willing to put her foot down to assert it. We might be spoiling her a little, also by demanding from her much less than from her brother. She loves all things creative, like drawing , music and dance.
Both children go to an English school , and are fluent in English and Spanish besides our own languages..
As a family we like outings and picnics, board games and table tennis, cooking , painting or watching movies together, sitting by the fire and watching the sunset, collecting wild mushrooms and going to country markets. At home we speak Russian, Bulgarian, English and Spanish.
We have a dog - a small Norfolk terrier called Sparky, who is almost 4 years old and pure joy.
Our experience so far and our expectations:
What we expect from our aupair - creating a stimulating and interesting environment for our children (mainly Nika) after school and on weekends, and helping with some light house chores. Ideally, our aupair should bring in something exciting and interesting in our lives - skills in music, dance, passion for painting, a new language (THIS YEAR WE ARE VERY KEEN ON FRENCH AND ONLY LOOKING FOR A AUPAIR SPEAKING NATIVE FRENCH) - things which will enrich the lives of the whole family and especially the children.
We have had wonderful experiences with young au pair girls - 17,19,20,25 and 26 year old girls from the US, Canada, France and Spain, their main responsibility has been creating and organizing a stimulating fun environment for the children, and helping with some light housework like running a vacuum cleaner , setting and cleaning the table , running the dishwasher and tiding up after the children have been playing.
The daily hours we expect from you are from approx 4-5 pm till bedtime, with longer hours on some weekends depending on what we have planned. The mornings, if the children are at school, are free. We have a car available which you can use on your free time.
