Dear Family,
I am a friendly, creative, energetic and hard-working Cambridge and UCL graduate who is looking for au pair work in Toronto, Canada with a family when I move there to study for my PhD.
I graduated in Classics with French from UCL Summer 2017, and since then spent one year living and working in Khartoum, Sudan, as a full-time class primary teacher for Grades 1,2, and 4 at a private international school and as a photographer and writer in my free time.
I spent the next four years working to build a boarding university of Education for young women in Somaliland (a breakaway region in northern Somalia). I live on-campus with my students and have not been beaten by uncountable academic, physical, emotional, and mental health, social, and cultural challenges that a project like this inherently entails. I am more than dedicated, working upwards of 70 hours per week due to the sheer commitment to, and enjoyment of, seeing my students and our community grow.
I have been working as the Director of the Upper School at the sister secondary school this past year.
I have taught and tutored at various organisations and in diverse methods for 9 years now - from a homeschooling organisation in my home county of Sussex in the south of the UK, to tutoring in the south of Spain, to teaching all ages in south-east Asia. In my final year of university, I met a wonderful family on this website, who have really become my second family; we have been on holiday with each other a number of times and I still work with them whenever I am at home.
I am a very person-centred young woman who takes responsibility, honesty, dignity, integrity, and reliability both in my professional and personal life seriously, who would love to live and work with a family this summer for a fun and enjoyable experience for all of us.
