I hope this letter lets you virtually get to know me better aswell as helping you decide on your next Au'pair!
HI,my name is Twanette and I'm originally from Roodepoort Gauteng.


I am a very outgoing person who loves the outdoors and nature,I like to go horsebackriding or even do an arts and craft project in my free time,I easilly connect with people and have no problem in making new friends/forming bonds and communicating.
I have extensive childcare experience and has been present with the children I cared for since birth and watched as they grew up,I do have more knowledge working with younger individiuals and newborns and know how to attend to their immediate needs aswell as how to work with them.I have Level 3 first aid training wich can assist and be in my advantage if a compromising situation ever occurs [eg:Allergic reactions,chocking,respetorial problems,airway obstructions etc]
I do not believe in any form of corporal punishment,as I believe that it comprimises trust with the child aswell as growing beliefs that violence will solve conflict,here is an example of how I am comfortable & would go in dissiplining a child;
• 1t clear boundries and rules and discuss them with the child.
• 2.When rule/boundry has been overstepped/broken,remain calm and give the first warning [eg:Kate,please stop screaming]
• 3t stern and warn of consequence [eg:Kate,if you do not stop screeming you will go sit in time out]
• 4ovide last warning with sterness and coming down to their level [eg:Kate,this is your last warning if you continue to scream you are going to sit in time out]
• 5 calm but firm and notify child by saying ''thats it,time our or ''you did not listen,time out'',With no direct eye contact and further communication [eg:That's it Kate,time out]
• 6ace child in time out (2 mins for every 1 year of age (4 years=8 minutes),follow through and place child back on time out if stood up/ran away with no eye contact or communication aswell as resetting the timer.
• 7.When time is upo,bow down to their level and explain why you placed them in time out and ask for appology and a hug/and or kiss [eg:Kate,I have placed you in time out because you did not listen when I asked you to stop,do you understand?will you listen next time?Can you say that you are sorry and give me a hug please?

I hope to make a positive impact on your child's life as to helping them grow into sucsessfull individiuals aswell as how to handle compromising/conflicting situations,how to be social,identifying dangerous hazards and objects,how to use intelectual knowledge on the playground aswell as in the classroom,how to say ''NO'' when they do not feel comfortable,and handling/controlling emotions etc..
In overall I hope to be a positive rolemodel and safety net for your child,setting examples and being the ''safe haven'' if they are emotional/having problems/being bullied etc.
BUT in overall I hope to have and form a bond with you as Parent!
