I'm Nathaniel, a 28-year-old Filipino with a genuine love for working with children and a background that's a little different from most au pair candidates. Before applying, I spent years in roles that required real responsibility — not just babysitting, but actually caring for kids, guiding them, and being someone they could rely on.
My most defining childcare experience came from an English immersion camp here in the Philippines, where I taught Korean students ranging from grade school to middle school. What made it unique was the Mother Teacher System — I was assigned as a personal guardian to three students for the entire duration of the program. I wasn't just their teacher. I managed their daily routines, looked after their wellbeing, handled concerns when they were homesick or unwell, and made sure they felt safe and supported far from home. It was essentially au pairing before I knew what an au pair was.
Outside of that, I've been an active Sunday school teacher and Youth Leader at my church for several years. Working with children and teenagers in both structured lessons and informal settings has taught me how to read a room, adapt to different personalities, and build trust with kids who might be shy or difficult to reach at first. I know how to be firm when I need to be and fun when the moment calls for it.
Professionally, I work in healthcare administration — eight years of navigating a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment where reliability and clear communication aren't optional. I bring that same mindset to everything I do.
My English is at a C2 level — I've used it professionally throughout my entire career, taught it to non-native speakers, and communicate in it naturally and precisely. I'm also currently studying French to prepare for life in Luxembourg, because I believe in showing up ready.
I'm unmarried, without children of my own, and fully committed to giving this experience everything I have. I'm not looking for a vacation with babysitting on the side — I'm looking to genuinely become part of a family, contribute meaningfully, and grow in the process.
