Dear host family,
I am already very excited about getting to know you. But, first of all, I would like to introduce myself to you.
My name is Joan. I am 43 years old and from Manila, Philippines. A roman CAtholic. I am very trustworthy, honest and a dedicated person. I am living nearby with my sisters which in the same neighborhood. I have 2 lovely dogs who love to cuddle all day. I have two kids living with me, 19 and 15 yrs old. Overall, I am a single mom who proud to say that i raised my children alone for 16 yrs. Since their father abandoned them.
I would describe myself as a reliable and caring person, who tries to make the best out of every situation. I like spending time with my family and kids which are very important to me. For my nephews and nieces I also help them and I’m always there for them if they need me.
In my free time, I like to listen to music, read and cook some dish which my kids are my food critics. Singing is one of my hobbies and sometimes Im studying other language. Furthermore, I enjoy reading a good book and singing – I remember the time Im organizing a concert event in Singapore.
At the moment, Im doing online (live) selling for my clothing, bags and apparel at home. I also work as Customer Service in one of a well known BPO company here in Philippines. I enjoy the job very much, because I am able to talked with many of our clients. But unfortunately the pay is really not worth it to my time and job so I resigned last yr to start my online business. I also work as a head waitress and Supervisor in Singapore (lebanese and japanese resto) for 10 yrs. At the same time I did some extra job for organizing a concert event which I bring Filipino Artist in Singapore to do a concert. And every off day I do also a part time teaching japanese kids to learn english at home or sometimes a nanny for a day.
For these 3 years I was stuck in Philippines because I was retrenched in our company in Singapore, I took care of my children and on my off day i do nanny to my friend's baby. I became very close to them and I cherish the time I have spent with them through this time, I have found out how much fun it is to have children around, I can’t imagine a life without them.
The reason why I want to go to the other countries as an au pair is that I want to get to know other nationalities way of life as well as different cultures. Most importantly, it would be a great chance to spend an entire year taking care of children. And of course, it would be great to improve my working, cooking and learning other language skills as well.
I hope we can develop a good relationship, working and living together as a family. I would be very happy to experience an eventful year with you and your kids. I am looking forward to talking to you and take care with you.
