Dear host family
My name is Tiffany Rose. I am 31 years old and I studied 2 years in college and taken up Bachelor in Elementary Education. I am from a historical island in the Philippines called Homonhon in the Eastern Visayas region (where the Portuguese explorer Ferdinand Magellan first landed on the island and discovered the Philippine islands back in March 1521).
After the devastation of the super typhoon Haiyan in our province in 2013, I went to the capital city Manila to work as a call center representative that serves US customers and worked there for a few months. And then I learned about the cultural exchange program from one of my friends, so I tried my luck and applied first in Norway and got accepted.
I love my experience in Norway honestly. It was my first time being abroad and everything feels new and exciting. The family that I lived with were very nice and I really feel welcomed and treated as a family. Living with them, I was able to develop my cooking skills as it was one of the main tasks in the house. I learned how to be flexible with time and learned how to cook from scratch. I am very thankful to them because I am confident now to be an Au pair in a new family as I have learned a lot from them. I fell in love with the city of Bergen and the whole country itself and from there I traveled and discovered different countries in Europe during my holidays.
My second country was in Denmark with a lovely family as well. My time with them have been nothing but sweet as they were very kind and very nice. I have a good relationship with my host mom and dad as we have managed the house and have taken care of the kids together so it was nice. We have talked a lot about life and other stuff and they were curious about my life so it was like being with my real family. I was able to meet their extended families as well and it was very nice to meet and know them personally.
I also went to Netherlands and Sweden as an Au Pair respectively as well.
I am currently in Madrid, Spain and I am hopeful to find a hostfamily/employer this summer 2023. I have 7 years experience as an Au Pair/housekeeper/cook.
