Hi. I would like to describe myself with this letter. I am 32 years old woman from Indonesia. I was born in Bandung. I come from a family of three: my father, mother and I. My father passed away in 2006. After I finished my first year in senior high school, mom decided to move to Jakarta and we live in Jakarta until now. I studied secretarial in Jakarta.
In this part, I will share about my job experience related with children. I previously work as a Nanny and Tutor for Italian-Taiwanese family. A few years ago, I took a job to look after the children as a Family Child Care Provider. They’re both my neighbour who live near my home. My duties are to play games to keep them entertained and happy, to help children with the homework, teach them English language, teach how to draw and colouring picture, help to learn how to spell, memorize alphabets and numbers, makes sure the children eat their meals and another. Beside that, I volunteer in non government organization as a Volunteer Teacher. My duties are to help children learn to read, write and speak in a small group setting, to help children with the homework, practice school subject such as English, Mathematics by giving some questions to children, support and encourage student while studying and be a good listener for them, like a sister.
I have interest to become an Au Pair because I am comfortable to work around the children and I genuinely wants to know about another country culture. I am looking for the host family who also have interest about getting to know my country and its culture. That's a part of the Au Pair program.
I come from Indonesia, a tropical country and I am used to be in the hot weather. I need time to adjust myself in cold country. I hope my host family will understand this and turn on the heater during night time for my room. I would be very thankful.
I am easy to adapt in the new neighborhood and to be around new people. I hope my host family stay true with their words, for example about the food, am I allow to cook for myself or I eat the food similar with the children. Am I allow to cook something else with the same ingredients like the food for children? I also need to know about the days off.
