Dear Host Family,
My name is Charity, I am 22 years old and I come from Kenya and currently I live in France with a valid Schengen visa. I come from a family of seven, and as the second born, I have always helped to take care of my younger siblings. I also have one niece and one nephew whom I often babysit.
I studied Early Childhood Development (ECD) and hold a Diploma in Early Childhood Development Education as well as a Certificate in Physical Education. Currently, I work as a private tutor, mainly teaching English, and I also babysit and volunteer at children’s homes. I have worked with children in many settings, including part-time nanny work during college, tutoring, and even a 3-month contract in Cape Town, South Africa, where I lived with and tutored children.
As for my childcare experience, I enjoy spending time with children, playing, tutoring, and caring for them. I’m patient, organized, and love engaging children in creative and fun activities.
In my free time, I enjoy bike riding, cooking and trying out new recipes, gardening (especially kitchen gardening), and of course spending time with children.
I have traveled abroad within Africa, including South Africa and Eswatini, but I have not yet been outside the continent.
My plan after my au pair stay is to continue my studies — I already have admission at a university in Minnesota, USA, where I plan to pursue my bachelor’s degree. I am taking this year as a cultural and personal growth experience before starting my studies.
