Dear Host Family,
My name is Fie, I’m a 20-year-old half danish half faeroese woman from Denmark. I will graduate from Gymnasium (equivalent to high school/college) this summer, and after graduation, I plan to take a gap year (or possibly more) to explore new cultures, gain life experience, and improve my language skills.
I’m a kind, polite, and creative person who enjoys various artistic activities, including cooking, painting, and drawing. I also love spending time in nature and staying active, as well as hanging out with friends ever so often. I would describe myself as responsible and open-minded, and I enjoy helping others – especially when it comes to learning.
I’m fluent in Danish and speak English very well. I have studied German at a high level in Gymnasium, and I would say i'm on a low intermediate level. One of my main motivations for becoming an au pair is the opportunity for cultural exchange and to immerse myself in another country’s language and daily life. I would be happy to take language courses before my stay.
I have two parents and an older sister, so I’m very familiar with sibling dynamics.
In terms of work experience, I’ve held several jobs, including cleaning positions, which have taught me to be thorough and reliable. I’ve always had an interest in teaching and learning, and I hope to study chemistry at university after my gap year – possibly with the goal of becoming a chemistry teacher in the future. I’m not afraid of animals, as I have both a dog and a cat at home, and some experience with horses as well.
I am eager to become part of a host family, help out with everyday tasks, and share our cultures with each other.
