I really want to get to know your country and culture. My family and friends say that I am a very maternal, responsible and loving person, besides, I love children, so this year I have decided to fulfill my dream of being an au pair. They support my decision and are very happy for me. I love learning languages, I am learning Korean and I just started with English. I don't know much English, but I think it's easier for me to learn languages, so I think I will learn it quickly. I am delighted to have the opportunity to improve my English, get to know their way of life, their customs and their country, and what better way than doing what I love! I love spending time with children, teaching them and learning from them every day. They learn a lot from us, but we learn more from them. For me it is wonderful to see them grow with us and learn, little by little, to become more independent.
My name is Sharik, I am 19 years old and I live in Colombia with my mother and my siblings. My mother's name is Neyired and she works in a garment workshop, my father's name is John and he works in construction. I have five siblings (four sisters and one brother). We are a united family. In spite of so many adversities, we have been able to move forward. I love children and although I am the third of my siblings, I always had to take care of my younger siblings when my mother went to work, I have also taken care of my little cousins during the vacations, preparing their food, Helping them with their homework, playing with them and making crafts together.
Besides childcare experience, I also enjoy reading books, listening to music and watching movies. As I already said, I also love learning new languages, traveling and getting to know other cultures and ways of life, meeting new people, talking and sharing experiences, going out with friends or preparing meals or dinners with my family or with my friends as well. I like to eat healthy, cook and try new flavors.
Being an au pair would give me the first opportunity to be independent for the first time. I can learn new things every day, take on different responsibilities than usual, grow on a personal level and discover a new country. I think all this will make the experience special and unforgettable.
