Hi dear future host family!
I am 25 years old, the eldest daughter of 4. I spent a year as an au pair in the Netherlands and another one in Belgium. I had two amazing experiences and I am looking for my next one;
I have 7 years of working experience with kids, from newborns to 12 y/o and I like to think that I can handle teenagers.
I am flexible and I think this is very important because every family has its dynamics, routines and ways to educate the kids and solve problems. With the 4 families that I helped until now I helped in different ways accordingly to their necessities and expectations.
In Brazil, I studied environmental science while working as a babysitter on the weekends. In college, for 5 years I lived away from my family, so I learn to be independent and responsible

My experience with kids:

* Au pair In Antwerp, Belgium. I took care of a baby since she was born and a 4 year old boy. I did everything related to the kids + groceries while parents were working. I taught English to Gabriel while playing after school and with his writing skills. With the baby I did her food introduction and sleep training. The parents worked a lot during the week days so I took the kids to doctor appointments and talk to teacher about their progress.
As they had a cleaning lady 3x times I just did the kids laundry, washed the baby’s bottles and empty the dishwasher.
And I took care of Coco too (dog)


* Au pair in Wassenaar, Netherlands. I took care of 3 girls (newborn, 3 and 5 years old) for one year. My responsibilities were: breakfast, take and pick them up at school, entertain them in the afternoon, cook dinner 3 times a week, help with the dogs, housework and laundry.
After the school we used to go by bike to the playground or the park. I arranged play dates and activities (arts and crafts, baking, games) and I helped with writing and reading skills.
We didn’t have a cleaning lady so all the household chores was done by me and the two parents.
We went to vacation together to Portugal.

*I worked as a nanny from 2014 to 2019 with a family with 3 kids on the weekends. When I started the kids were 2, 5 and 6 years old. There I had a lot of autonomy since the parents used to work on the weekends: I planned the day, activities, meals and helped with homework, drove the kids to activities and some household chores. I went with them in some trips.

*My sisters are 15 and 10 years now and I take care of them since they were newborns.

I am not judgmental about the families’s method of education and I do my best to join in. I like to allow children to be independent as far as possible for their age and go along with the child’s own interests and likes. I prioritize providing a safe and stimulating environment so the kids can learn, improve, grow and have fun.

My first language is Brazilian Portuguese.

I can speak English very well which I learned by myself in Brazil and studied at the University of Leiden when I was in the Netherlands. For 2 years I spoke English while in Holland and Belgium.

I have some basic knowledge in Spanish and French.
