Thank you for taking the time to read my letter
My name is Meylin and I am 29 years old. I am an Indonesian, who now lives in the United States. I graduated from college in Indonesia with a major in hospitality. Most of my experience is working with people. I love helping people and bringing smiles to their faces.
When I was in Indonesia, I had experience working at the hotel as a receptionist and executive lounge assistant for the VIP guests. I was a supervisor at a mall clothing store. I also worked as a translator for a global humanitarian group from the US. After graduating, I volunteered to help teachers from the elementary school in my village, teaching Basic English to the children after school.
Since moving to the US, I have gained additional experience working at Cheesecake Factory in Huntington Beach and as a caregiver for an agency near San Francisco. These roles have helped me improve my communication skills, patience, and ability to meet the diverse needs of others.
I am a loving, helpful, and playful person with a passion for caring for both children and elderly people. I enjoy spending time with children, playing games, and engaging in activities that make them happy. I am a quick learner and compassionate person, and I treat all of my clients as if they were my own family, making sure they feel safe, cared for, and respected.
When it comes to my work experience with children, it began during my high school years when I helped Sunday school teachers to watch and teach children singing and dancing for Christmas performances. Two years before I left Indonesia I also participated in the church community as a part time Sunday School teacher and caring for my students of various ages.

I believe that understanding and appreciating each other’s perspectives make life richer. I have close friends from various backgrounds—some are Muslim and Hindu, and one of my girlfriend is Buddhist. They are some of the kindest people I know, and our different beliefs have never been a barrier to our friendship.***
Another childcare experience I had is helping my parents care for my younger brother from birth and helping my cousin and my neighbor to babysit their children when they were working. During the time when I volunteered as a translator for the medical teams from the USA and Australia, I also spent time playing and engaging with children at refugee camps. Last but not least, I am a godmother to three beautiful baby girls and have helped their mother to babysit them.
I can cook some (I know mostly Indonesian food) but I would love to learn how to cook western food more. I would be very happy if you would teach me more American recipes. If you want, I will also cook Indonesian food for you one day as part of me sharing my culture.
I am okay if you want me to do housework, such as tidying up children’s toys, doing laundry, dishes, vacuuming and take the garbage out.
My first language is Bahasa, but I speak English well and am currently learning Spanish. I enjoy spending time outdoors, going for a walk and enjoying the nature, meeting new people and exploring new cultures and foods. When I'm at home, I love spending time listening to music, watching movies and learning Spanish from my Duolingo app :)
