My name is Laura.
I have an Italian passport. So I do not need a visa for EU countries. I am also a US citizen.
I grew up in the US in Tennessee. I am native in English and Italian, but I can also speak Spanish fluently, and I need practice in my French and German skills.
I have a lot of experience with children and with housework. I was an au pair in France when I was 17, and an English kindergarten teacher in China for about year when I turned 18. I later went to work in Mexico as an English teacher for children and adults. I currently work as an online English teacher. I have a 5-year-old brother and a 1 year old sister that I help take care of too.
I have decided to work as nanny or tutor because I really love kids and I have plenty of experience caring for them.
I hope to build good memories with my host family. I have no problem cleaning and cooking. I am a very good cook (so people have told me).
I prefer to spend my free time taking walks, doing a sport like volleyball, going out into the city to explore, or just staying at home and passing my time reading/painting/knitting/baking. I can also play the guitar and I enjoy singing! Recently, I took up ice skating as a hobby and I fell in love with it.
I love animals; I have no problem with taking care of them.
I am not a party person. I don't like smoking or getting drunk.
I always will try to help out extra when I can if the host family needs me help. I will always respect the family's boundaries and rules.
I'm a very mature person and I have a lot of experience. I'm very independent and can fully take care of myself.
As an Au Pair, I worked in France. The family had two kids, 6 and 4. I took them to school/brought them home, made them lunch or dinner when the parents were late. I took them to the park, played soccer with the older one, read books to them before bedtime, etc. The couple however was going through a divorce so there was a lot of tension in the house.
In China I worked in 2018-2019 as a Kindergarten teacher. I taught English. A lot of the job was preparing activities for the children (crafts) and organizing the lessons, obviously teaching them the lesson, helping with any school event, and much more. It was a very pleasant time. I taught kids ages 4-6.
I later returned home to stay with my family. We moved to Mexico and I opened up a mini-school and taught English to kids from 2-12 years old. (Split up into different groups.)
I have had a lot of experience teaching and have learned many methods. I have a lot of patience with children.
Aside from my teaching experience, I have a three-year old brother. I have helped to take care of him since he about 10 months old (when I returned home).
I've also babysat a lot of times when I was younger.
I absolutely adore knitting and would love to learn how to crochet. I also love sewing! I like making puppets, sock puppets, dolls, and much more. It's something I'm very passionate about: creating anything with my own hands.
I love drawing and painting (watercolor) and one day I would even love to illustrate children's books. Reading is also another favorite hobby of mine. Specifically horror novels, but I also very much enjoy science fiction as well.
I adore cooking and learning new recipes. I'm not a picky eater and will try anything! I love baking as well.
Cats are my favorite animals ever. Though I love all animals! I also have a fascination of ducks. I had some ducklings I took care of back when my family had a farm. I even taught them to come when called and to jump when I told them to! They're so cute.I also have an australian shepherd who is currently 1.5 years old. She is my world and I love her so much! So I'm definetely a dog-lover as well.
Another hobby of mine is ice skating. I'm very passionate about it and am very happy to teach anybody that wants to learn!
I'm a very active person even if I am sometimes a little shy. I like going to visit places, seeing museums, and I really like nature. I grew up in the countryside and they were probably some of the best years of my life.
