If you manage to read my detailed profile, I thank you. I have a Schengen visa and an American passport.
First, I cannot comprehend the love you must-have for your child(ren). I am reminded of an anecdote; a mother once told me: Jose, if you want to understand how valuable my child is to me; imagine your heart walking into the world. How vulnerable your heart must be being separated from your body. You see, my child is like my heart walking into the world. If something were to happen to my child, like my heart, I wouldn’t be able to survive. I protect my child the same way I protect my heart because if I were to lose one or the other, my life would end. I am trusting you with my most valuable possession.
Caring for children is not a difficult job to do, but it is a difficult and challenging one to do well. Caring for anyone can commonly put a strain on us. This is particularly true when caring for children, as they can be more easily hurt. Almost the entire gamut of human emotions can be found within and through relationships with children. It's easy to watch a child but it is challenging to help them succeed. I wholeheartedly hope you find someone who can take of your children WELL. Leading others in any human endeavor is a vital responsibility.
As your au pair, it is my goal to ensure that love, dedication, enthusiasm, creativity, and energy is part of my responsibility towards your child; because in doing so, I will reap far greater rewards in return. And together work towards a common goal: a happy and worthwhile experience for everyone.
I am a college graduate, with a degree in Business Administration from a University in California. I have been an Au Pair twice. The first time was with a family that had 3 young boys (ages 3, 6, and 7). The second family I was with them for over 5 years. They had four boys, ages 7, 8, 9, 10. Two of them had ADHD and the oldest was diagnosed to be in the spectrum of autism and type 1 diabetes. During my time as an au pair, I own and operate a summer camp for children. I had the camp in the summer and during the year was an au pair with the same family. The second host family truly became a second family to me. I love them dearly. They supported me tremendously during the most difficult period in my life; my mom getting ovarian cancer and ultimately succumbing to the disease. After the death of my mom and ending my time with my host family, I decide to travel. After some time, I settle in Mexico and started a business. But my ultimate dream is to open another summer camp, most likely in Mexico; I am planning and working on it. It's a long difficult process. In the meantime, I would like to help others. I enjoy working with parents and their children.
Naturally cheerful, with calming demeanor; optimistic, outgoing, friendly, and bubbly. A proactive and confident personality that anticipates things, thinks ahead, and doesn't need to be reminded what to do or be constantly supervised. I am tolerant of racial, national, religious, and cultural backgrounds. Although I have pride in my own past, I don’t feel the need to impose my own personal belief. I love traveling and learning to compare and evaluate through contact with unfamiliar customs. I have a love for outdoor living and sports. I used to coach several sports and love camping. I enjoy helping others. I volunteered in different organizations. I was a volunteer for the Meals on Wheels organization, delivering meals to the elderly. I worked at homeless shelters, volunteer at my church, and camps for disadvantaged children. Working and teaching children is my life’s goal. I have a genuine fondness for children of all ages. I enjoy having fun with them. Guiding them to do what is best for them. I can teach them new skills but also have the desire to learn from others. I am fair. I know children have a keen sense of fair play. I have the ability to participate with them at their level yet maintains their respect. I have faith and confidence in children yet maintain a high level of safety consciousness for their well-being. I am aware of common sense and good judgment when handling new or unexpected situations. I am a team player. I understand teamwork involves being flexible and adaptable. I thrive for self-improvement yet recognize that no one is perfect. We must have personal honesty toward oneself and others. We all desire to be sincere, cheerful, considerate, and efficient; and yet, we sometimes fall short of our own desire. But we must still be patient and understanding towards others and ourselves.
I want to thank you for possibly considering me as a male Au pair. One of the benefits of a male Au pair for boys your children is they will gain a positive male role model. This can be a person who understands them and has many years of experience working with children of different ages, in different settings.
