We employed her for a permanent role but after only a few weeks we realised there was something wrong. It is very hard to know if what she says is truth or not. We lent her money - many thousands - to free her from her previous employer because she told a story about being mis-treated. So there was no chance to gain a reference. She was on the telephone crying and literally begging to be taken on. So we felt sorry for her and duty bound to help. She was employed to care for my wife who has Parkinsons and Multiple Sclerosis. Out of my hearing, she verbally abused my wife - insulting her and shouting at her in public. My wife was in tears most days due to this demeaning behaviour.Everything in our schedule had to be changed so that it centered around her and her needs. It would be hard to meet someone more selfish.When we replaced her after three months we found a lot of my wifes heirlooms were missing. Because they were given by my wifes mother, we have no receipts, no photographs of the items and no proof that she took them. But after nearly five years of using care workers from this site, it is the first time anything has gone missing. Also, there were no other visitors upstairs in the home in all the time she was with us. Given we have no record or photos of what is missing, we did not contact the police. We were simply glad to get her out of the house.To steal from someone is a dreadful crime. To steal from the old lady in your care is wicked. We have no recourse to recover our loan, no way to replace the lost items and we are still bruised by the whole experience. As I say, this is a one-off on this site - but please stay away from this corrupt lady.
