Infrequent bus service to Cork city, about 8 buses per day. We are looking for a friendly girl preferably with some Au Pair experience with a mature personality. i would hope that you would be an independent girl with an interest in meeting others and exploring our beautiful island during your time off.

Job Description
We are a really easygoing family with three children, all of which attend school each week day. I need an au pair to work flexible hours as I work shift work. My husband and I are separated although he is still very much involved in family life. He is a wonderful hands on father.
I need an au pair who will work without constant direction from me. In return for a helping hand I think you that you will feel welcome and comfortable within our family. We are used to having an au pair around the house so it is very relaxed.
A typical day in our house begins as follows:- The children need to rise for school at about 8am and you will need to wake them up, prepare their packed lunches and oversee breakfast. They leave for school at about 8.45am. From this time until the youngest child returns from school at about 2.30-2.45pm, I will need you to do a few chores around the house - make the children's beds, tidy up the kids bedrooms, empty/load the dishwasher and do ironing of the children's clean clothes and put their clothes away in their wardrobes. Some days you will need to vacuum the floor of the living areas and wash the tiles. All of this work is just day to day cleaning that would be expected. Nothing heavy duty is required by the au pair as I feel that this is my responsibility. What I do need is someone to tackle jobs that they can see need attention so that during my working day, the house remains the way I would keep it on the days that I am off work. I think that you will find these tasks can be completed in about 1-2 hours and the rest of the morning will be your own to relax, go for a walk in the beautiful countryside, watch a movie, whatever you like. Personally I love to cycle in the countryside as it is just a great way to stay fit and have some time to yourself. We have a quality bicycle that you can use while you are here. And obviously when you want to go further afield we can drop you to the bus and collect you.
So in the afternoon when the youngest returns from school, he will need to do his homework, which he may need some help with, simple maths and English words. This will only take about 20 minutes. At about 3.30pm the older two children return home from school by school bus. A hot meal is generally waiting for them after the day at school, this being the main meal of the day. I you like to cook! Of course simple meals will be fine, but I do try to introduce healthy food a lot even though they much prefer chips and chicken nuggets!!
The older two will need to complete homework after their dinner. Shannagh can take up to two hours to do this, but only because she is a dreamer and does not apply herself as well as she could. Ben only takes about 30-40 minutes to do his:)
The children take a shower each evening before they go to bed. Only the youngest, Oscar, needs a little help dressing and undressing but they are all fairly independent. On school nights, they must go to bed by about 8.00-8.30pm and they can read for a while in bed.
My shifts at work could be from:
7.00hrs until 17.00hrs, 12.00hrs until 22.00hrs, 15.00hrs until 1.00hrs, 17.00hrs until 3.00hrs, or 21.00hrs until 7.00hrs
I generally work for 6 days in a row and then I am off for 4 days in a row. So you will have varied days off but plenty of time off when you need to go traveling around Ireland or go out with friends.
Well what else can I say other than, I hope you will be very happy living here with us. We have had many au pairs in the past and we have not had any problems yet that we could not overcome through open conversation and discussion.
