Au Pair/Nanny job description

UPDATE - We are both experienced teachers (Grade 9 Learning Leader & Literacy Coordinator). We will be moving to either Singapore or The Netherlands in August 2010 on a Teaching Job exchange and looking for the right person to join us - preferably Canadian or Dutch. The Position: the salary is negotiable Start date is flexible and can be between May 1st and August 15th, 2010 for at least 12 months. We expect a loving, playful atmosphere with a schedule of activities throughout the day for the children (crafts, games, reading/storytime, walking to parks, ect.). Hours of work will be 7:30-4:30 Monday to Friday. Our main characteristic in having an au pair join our family is they must have an overwhelming desire to care for children. We do not expect a nanny that puts her time in and hides in the basement. We are looking for a warm, caring, fun-loving person to be a part of the family and as well as a big sister to our children.

Family's Message to Au Pairs and Nannies

Our family: As mentioned my wife and I have a beautiful daughter (Mackenzie) and a newborn son (Keigan). As my wife will be off work until September 2010 we would like the nanny/au pair to start between May 1st and August 15th, 2010. If you are available sooner and are the right person we can discuss the possibility of joining us sooner. We are a very outgoing and fun family who likes to do many activities. We would like to have a nanny/au pair not to be an employee, but as part of our family. As teachers we do get a number of days off during the year and do expect the nanny/au pair to take these off as well with limited household duties: Winter Break - 2 weeks, Spring Break - 1 week, Summer holidays - 8 weeks and all Statutory holidays. Although the duties will lessen we will still pay the nanny at these times. Thanks so much
