50-something family, primarily Belgian, living in Belgium. Family speaks Creole, Dutch, English, French, Haitian-Creole, Portuguese, and Spanish. Looking for a female Au Pair. Our aupair will need to have a driver's license. Light housekeeping is required, and we will not accept an aupair that smokes.
As a single parent with 2 children, life is not very simple in my family. I am an international consultant, travelling a lot, it is even more complicated. So I need a person I can trust even during my absences, and who is eager to travel sometimes in tropical countries. She should be able of autonomy and adaptability in regions of different culture (this including languages, religions, food, behaviour) and willing to respect these cultures. Duty relates to maintain the discipline of the children, regarding meals, study, sleeping time and leisure. We relocate in August in Liège, Belgium, where we intend to stay for several months, keeping the French and Thai houses as secondary residences. The activities to be shared concern outdoor and indoor aspect. Outdoor should be related not only to sports: also attendance to concerts, theatre, etc. Indoor is more cultural: over the games, there are creative activities, like drawing, painting, playing music, singing, and improving language skills.
Family's Message to Au Pairs
Dear au pair, If you are interested in discovering other places and cultures than your own, you will be happy with us. If you are narrow minded, you will not feel comfortable with us. Our way of living even is not ordinary: we don't eat junk food, we try to consume only organic products and to avoid spoiling the planet with all kinds of industrial garbage.
