Au Pair's Message to Families

Dear family:D My name is Eydís I am a young woman who really would like to be a part of your and your children's life for some time. I'm an responsible, trustworthy and mature person. I have an open mind and I really like to get to know different cultures. In begining of july this summer I came back home from Brazil where I had stayed for a whole year as an exchange studend. It was a really great experience and has made me want to know more countries and differents cultures. As an former exchange student I think it is going to help me alot becoming an aupair, knowing how hard it can be to adjust to a new family, lifestyle, culture and so many different things. I'm a very outgoing and energetic person, I love playing sports, travelling,cooking,photographing, meeting new people and trying new things. I'm easy going and open minded about everything. I have always been good in organizing things and on my final year in high school I was voted the student body president :D After I arrived home from Brazil I have also been very active in AFS projects for the exchange students that are currently here in Iceland planing all sorts of fun things for them to experience:D Currently we are a group of five that are organizing a multi-cultural day in couple of elementary schools in the capital of Iceland that has never been done before and everyone is really excited about ;) I want to be an aupair because I love kids and is something that I have always wanted to do. Ever since of the age of 9 years old I have been babystitting my neigbours and my cousins children. When I turend 13 I took a babysitting/first aid course called "Börn og umhverfi" or "Children and enviroment" that the Red Cross in Iceland has to offer to young girls from the age of 12 where I learned a lot of interest and helpful things about babysitting. In 2006-2008 I was a assistant coach in handball for girls at the age of 10-13 which was an really great experience:D:D Would love to become a part of your family.
