Nanny's Message to Families

Dear Family, I am a 28 year old energetic and detail oriented girl. I'm very fun and easy to be with. I have 4 nieces and 1 nephew who gave me my head start in child care and all of my sisters love having me watch their children when I'm able (when I used to live nearby). I think it is very important to be nurturing and create a secure and comfortable atmosphere. I was a teacher for two years. I enjoy using creative tools and techniques to teach kids...example (puppet shows, field trips) I'm a very expressive reader and love reading to children. I know that children are a sponge for everything around them. I am very careful to be a good influence and very respectful. I taught all of my students basic spanish. Soon after graduating I started working on my Bachelor's degree in Journalism. For a mid college travel experience I travelled to Cooranbong Australia to attend Avondale College and Majored in Art. That was one amazing experience! I stayed in Australia to work for a family in a beautiful neighborhood overlooking the Sydney Harbor. There were two adorable children and one labrador that depended on me for that summer. I really fell for them and loved that family. I was privileged enough to experience a trip in Nairobi Africa during my college years. In Africa we helped build a school for the children of the Masaii tribe. That was the most rewarding thing I've done yet. I taught english class at the local elementary to the children in the tribe throughout the trip. I taught Social Studies to grades K-8th for two years! My sister influenced this decision because she invited me to spend a day in her classroom and I loved it!! It was an amazing experience. I will be working on my masters in Counseling for the next two years. That's why I'm seeking a nanny position. I will be taking the majority of my course online so I have a very flexible schedule. Before I start studying again or while I study I would like to find a nanny position. I love taking care of children. I have worked as a nanny 3 times and as a child care provider at a day care before and each was a great experience. I have references readily available. I am an enthusiastic, smart, fun, loyal, young lady and I am interested in being a addition to a an active, open-minded, caring home with children. I love doing creative things and I am a out of the box thinker. I speak english as well as conversational spanish.
