Au Pair's Message to Families

Dear host family, My name is Merope and I am 22 years old. I live with my family in Brazil in a city called Sao Caetano do sul, close to Sao Paulo. Here I take a Pedagogy course in an University . In my graduation course I took care of children in schools, day-care centers. Recent born children and even toddlers, about 7 years. Everybody considers me a friendly person, sincere, affectionate, dedicated and positive. I am very happy and responsible as well. I like to learn new things and to grow professionally. I am always in search of knowledge and my current interest is to live deeply in the American culture. I consider myself an outgoing and funny person, always caring for the good of the people surrounding me, discipline and education are two things that can’t lack in my daily routine, that’s why people always say I’m very neat and organized. I was born in a very big and cozy family, I’m an only child but my family has always supported al the decisions I took for the well of my future, I grow up surrounded by my aunts, uncles, cousins and grandparents, we’ve always been very united. I love being with my family and friends, seeing films and talking. I love to travel, going to the park and circus, take a walk in the zoo. I like music very much. I know play some musical instruments. I also love to read, sing, cook and surf the net, browsing for new information and also chatting with the ones I love. Concerning children assistance, I’ve had an awesome experience with them, it all began with cousins and after at the university when I was first taught the right way to take care of them, one of the golden experiences, and the most outstanding one was when I worked as a nanny for Enzo, a brazilian boy, so of Vania, which came to be my friend. Now, I work as a volunteer in a Government's program helping a teacher called Adriana in her classes. They are 30 children between 5 and 8 years old. It’s been a great experience. I have decided to be an Au Pair because I hope it can help me improving my English, and my career. I would like to meet new friends, get know The USA and its culture and be more responsible and independent. I think its ideal because I like children. I want to do my best on my job, developing my tasks with perfection and studying hard. I had a lovely and happy childhood and I want transmit it to the children that I will take care of. I am looking forward to learning all about your country and I would like to become part of your family.
