| Hi!
I am a graduate from the University of Arizona with a degree in elementary education. Working with children is my passion and it is what I do best. I have been working with children for well over 10 years. I started with the typical baby-sitting when I was 12. Then in high school I was a part time nanny and also worked in a daycare/preschool. In college I worked one on one with an autistic little girl. We worked on socialization and speech primarily. Then I took time off to do my student teaching, which I loved!
After I graduated college is when I started nanny-ing full time. I worked for a family with a 1 year old for about a year before they moved and no longer needed me. They referred me to another family who I have worked for the last four years or so. When I started they had a three month old boy. He is now four and a half and has a little brother who will soon be three. I absolutely love them and am sad to go, but the parents job situation has changed and they no longer need me.
Over the years nanny-ing, my job has obviously changed as the kids get older. We went from learning to eat and play to learning letters and numbers to manners and good behavior. We go to the park, the zoo, on playdates, etc. It has been a fun journey and while not everyday is perfect I wouldn't change anything.
In addition I teach Sunday school at my church for the 2 year old class on Sunday mornings. Then on Wednesday I work with the kindergarten to 2nd graders in a program called AWANAS. Apparently most of my life is kids, though I promise I do have other interests! |
