Au Pair/Nanny job description

Duties will include the morning routine, helping us ensure that our little man gets up, has a bite to eat, gets dressed and ready for school. Some mornings you may be asked to drive him to school. You will be asked to help with the housework and run the occasional errand to the dry-cleaners or market, but for the most part, the day will be at your leisure until it's time to pick William up from school. Back at the house, you will help William with his homework and share some quality time indoors or out. TV (usually a movie) is OK only on weekends though. Depending on our schedules, you may be required for the evening routine of bath, bed and book. On average, this will be one or two evenings a week.

Family's Message to Au Pairs and Nannies

Thanks for checking out our profile! You are a fun loving and easy going au pair that will be a positive influence on our impressionable cheeky monkey. We're a busy and happy family always on the go, and you will be our first au pair! You will have a choice of accomodations - either a bedroom on the upper floor with a shared bath, or a small suite on the lower level if you prefer more privacy. If you're willing to help with meal prep, that would be a big plus. We love to gather around the dinner table and talk about the days events, and we look forward to hearing about your family, experiences and plans for the future. We travel a fair bit for work so there may be occasions where you will be asked to look after William if our travel schedules overlap. There will also be opportunities for you to travel with us if we are all going on a trip. We live in a great neighbourhood of Ottawa, steps from a beautiful lake and only 5 minutes from the city centre. Ottawa has a vibrant night life and as capital of Canada, a seemingly endless supply of museums and galleries. Montreal is a 2 hour drive and New York City is an 8 hour drive.
