***If you have previously viewed my profile, my needs/desires have changed a bit. I would like to begin the process of becoming a lactation consultant and possibly obtain a doula certification. Therefore, I'm looking for a position that is live-in with either before/after school care or part-time (either 2-3 full days or under 30 hrs/week working daily).*** Hello and Thank You for taking a look at my profile! My primary objective as a nanny is to look to fulfill the needs of your child(ren). I love kids. I am very discerning and communicative. I practice redirection, though I am not afraid to say 'no.' I believe play is essential to learning. I believe sleep is very important, especially during the 0-5 ages. I like to establish and follow a routine. I am affectionate and caring. I like to have fun. I am organized. I often refer to myself as an infant whisperer. I have many hours invested in studying infant development, as well as a year of experience running an infant classroom for a fabulous preschool in Phx. I have had four nanny jobs where I started with a newborn. Infants are a passion of mine. I'm good with them and they respond well to me! I have had several positions that worked with children 2-12, and I am very close to my cousins, ages 9, 11, &12. I have been a part of their lives since birth as a babysitter, nanny, big sister, aunt! I am a Christian! I enjoy people and believe regular fellowship with other believers is essential. This is the most important part of my life. I am hoping to work with a family who shares my beliefs! I am rather conservative in my beliefs. I attend Grace Community Church (a Sovereign Grace Ministries church) in Brambleton, VA. I enjoy singing, photography, drawing, painting, quilting, biking, rollerblading, swimming, shopping. In Sept of 07, I finished a 16 month live-in nanny job for an Ethiopian family. The boys were 3 & 5 when I started and we added a baby girl 2 months after I started. I took care of children, planned activities, shopped for groceries and kids' needs, washed children's laundry and managed a lot of the household. I took infant to all her checkups in the first year of her life. It was a great experience! I have recently worked with two families in VA to help transition newborn twins home from the hospital.
