Au Pair/Nanny job description

Mom and dad are lawyers... son is a perfect (of course) 2.5 yo. Dad was stay-at-home until May. Now that dad has taken a job out of the house, we need help. Responsibilities: 4-5 hours in afternoon on weekdays and occasional help on weekends. Accomodations: Au pair will live in own lower level room with its own bathroom, kitchenette (microwave, sink, and small refrigerator), and a separate entrance. The house is in Kensington, which is in the hills just north of Berkeley. A bus stops right outside the door that drops off at the downtown Berkely BART. Pay: $125/week + $10/hour after 25 hours.

Family's Message to Au Pairs and Nannies

We're looking for a kind and responsible person to join our family. We believe that childhood is for having fun while learning how to be a good person. If you feel the same way, we'd love to connect. My wife and I are very engaged parents, so you will have all the support you need to provide the best care possible. We don't expect you to jump off the plane and raise our child alone. Care is a group effort in our house, with mom, dad, grandparents, aunts, uncles, friends, daycare/school teachers, and our son himself (he really is pretty nice - for a 2yo) pitching in. We just need someone to join the effort now that I'm out of the house during the week. We also can offer the perk of a private room and bath with a separate entrance. We want you to have a life outside of "work," and your accomodations will give you the privacy and convenience to take advantage of your time off. It is a perfect situation for someone who wants to go to school during the day (the Bay Area has many colleges and universities to choose from).
