| Our family consists of myself, Madlene Olander, my husband Jag and our five year old daughter Elsa. We also have two well behaved cats, Chaos and Panic and a puppy name Ludde.
I’m a Director in Project Management at a company in Norwood. Jag works for the
We enjoy spending time as a family and make it a priority to do activities on the weekend, i.e., going to the zoo, apple picking etc. My biggest interest is children’s art and I spend the little time I have to myself on my company . Jag loves fishing and home improvements.
Elsa is a happy little girl with a big personality. Since I’m from Sweden she speaks both English and Swedish. Elsa loves arts, playing princess, singing and dancing. Elsa wakes up a 7AM and goes to bed at 8PM. Since Elsa goes to preschool three days a week and usually goes on play dates with the other au-pairs and kids from our area (about 30-40 other aupairs in our area).
We are extremely open to other cultures. I’m Swedish, and my husband is West Indian American. We travel to Sweden twice a year. Since Jag is the Director of Multi Culture Affairs we all come in contact with many different cultures on a regular basis with culture events at the College that Jag’s department sponsors.
We live in a ranch style house with a large backyard. Elsa has a swing and lots of room to play. The basement is finished and houses a guestroom, bathroom, family room and he au-pair’s room will be downstairs, so that she can have her privacy. She will also have her own bathroom and shower. The room has a bed, nightstand, closet, dresser, lots of storage and a TV. It’s a cute room with all new furniture. The au-pair will also have access to a car.
We are expecting the au-pair to respect our home and treat it as they would their own. We are also expecting the au-pair to help out with light cleaning (loading dishwasher, vacuuming etc) while Elsa is in daycare and of course also clean up after herself.
We live in Swampscott, which is located on the NorthShore outside Boston (20 min with train). The beach is located 5 min from our house. It’s a cute little town with lots of shopping (within walking distance from our home) and there is also a lot of gyms and places to go walking. Historic Salem is located about 10 minuets from Swampscott and Marblehead is about 5 minuets away.
