Au Pair job description

Dear Au Pair, We would like you to take care of our 2 children (who will be aged 2 and 4 in February 2009), which includes playing with them, driving them to and from school/creche (kindergarten) and to their grand-mother's house where they spend certain afternoons or mornings. The light household work that you could be asked to do on a regular basis includes things like clearing up toy, laundry, buying some groceries for example. There is room for flexibility and adjustments will be made depending on everybody's schedules.

Family's Message to Au Pairs

Dear Au Pair, In our family, both parents work (except on Wednesdays for the Mum and week-ends for both). In the evening we concentrate our chidren with whom we like to spend some time before bed time. We actually spend most of our free time with them. On week-ends we like to take the kids out to play and we visit friends or family. We like sport and various kinds of music. We like to enjoy life and be happy. We are also serious and reliable. The mother speaks English to the children and the father speaks French to them. The mother is half Finnish and half Indian and the father is half French and half Senegalese. Both have lived all their life in Geneva. As the plan looks as we are writing this, you would have Wednesdays and week-ends off. We will ask you to babysit a few evenings each month so that we can go out. You will have a very nice and comfortable room of your own where you will be able to watch TV and DVDs and use a computer. We are welcoming and open people and you will be treated as part of the family, You will be free to go and come as you like during your free time. In fact we prefer to have and independent person who has been away from home before and has some work experience, including in child care. We would like to find someone who is reliable, polite, cheerful, dynamic, open and who communicates well, who likes chidren (even when they are tired or hungry !) and enjoys playing and talking to them.
