Au Pair's Message to Families

Dear host family I am a 23-year-old outgoing and warmhearted girl from a small town in southern Finland. My family consists of mum, dad and three sisters. I also have a half brother who is six years old. For the past few years I have lived by myself and studied in a university. I have just completed a dental hygienist degree in The Turku University of Applied Sciences. I'm currently working as a secretary in a health care center. During my free time I like to go dancing with my friends. I also love spending time outdoors in the sun doing all kinds of activities like jogging and swimming. Overall, a healthy lifestyle is important to me. I really enjoy spending time with children and seeing life through their eyes. Children are so genuine and always excited about new things. I have quite a lot experience in taking care of children. I have looked after my niece (16 months), goddaughter (8 yrs), neighbours children (3-8 yrs), halfbrother (6 yrs)and my cousins as well. I´m responsible and mature girl with good work ethic and positive attitude. I have had drivers licens 5 years now so I´m quite experienced driver. I want to become au pair because I look forward to experiencing new customs and culture as an au pair, and I am eager to improve my language skills as well. I would very much like to become part of an American family, take care of the children and be a big sister for them. As I just completed my studies, this would be an ideal time for me to spend a year abroad. I have planned to spend a one year in USA as an au pair.
